I looove this stuff!! I have really thick dry hair that i absolutely hate to have to wash every day but because my scalp gets so oily, I have to unless I use this fabulous product. Because my hair is dry (everywhere other than the scalp) I actually like the way my hair looks more with this than actually shampooing it and having it look super dry all over. If you feel like it "builds up" and isn't working, you're probably just spraying too close. Spray from far away, let it settle for a minute or so than brush/comb it through like the directions say. And it really doesn't need THAT much. It actually takes a few min for it to absorb all the oil. I think some of the reviewers who didn't like it probably put too much based on what they are saying. As far as the smell goes, it is really not that bad. My mom actually LIKED the smell. I can't say I like it, but I'm not grossed out by it at all, and besides it goes away almost right away. As far as baby powder vs. this thing..I hate the smell of baby powder so much but sometimes I will sprinkle a little in conjuction with this product and it works GREAT. I can go three days without washing my hair and it looks awesome (And I have really greasy hair.) LOVE IT.
Wow!! No More Greasy Roots!!

I bought this product recently and was amazed at how well it works. I was one of those women who HAD to wash her hair EVERY DAY!!! My roots would get SOOO oily, but the rest of my hair looked great. I had tried using baby powder before, but the white residue it left behind left me wanting for another alternative. After using this product my hair looked FANTASTIC from roots to ends. My hair is wavy and always tends to look better on the second day, but those greasy roots made it impossible for me to go without washing my hair everyday. Plus, I blow dry to style so I was seriously concerned about frying my hair with every day wash. Now I don't have that problem and thanks to this product I can feel confident going to work with fresh, clean smelling hair.
Love this product!

Due to health limitations, I have searched high and low for a dry shampoo that actually worked and didn't break the budget. I hit the jackpot with the Batiste Dry Shampoo. By following the directions, it truly made my hair smell and feel clean, but most importantly, made my hair plump up - wild and full!! It was great working with my hair, and every single time I use it, I get compliments on my hair. Go figure! (I don't get them when I have freshly washed and fixed my hair! lol) I only wish it came in a bigger can - I'm on a mission to see if I can find one.
Love It, Great for Color-Treated Hair

My hair is bright blue, and I like to keep it that way. But, as many of you know, the more you wash candy-colored hair the more it fades. This stuff is great! It really does work: my hair is fine, straight, and oily by the end of day 2. I put it in on the morning of day 3 and it's like I just stepped out of the salon.

First of all, I followed a previous reviewer's EXCELLENT instructions:
1. spray through roots while slightly lifting and parting the hair, let it sit in hair for 3-5 minutes
2. rake fingers thru hair blending it in from roots to tip
3. take a bristle brush and comb thru to continue blending any that is left

To which I will add some of my own tips:

4. Always start out with much less than you think you need. You can always add more later.
5. It will only work once, maybe twice. Then you really will need to wash your hair.
6. The smell is nice (if a tiny bit chemical, at least is isn't repulsively floral or baby powder) but strong. Best to do it at least an hour before you go out, give the smell a little time to fade.
7. Does not mix well with other products. If you intend to use shine or voluminizor, they don't seem to work well with the dry shampoo. I use very few products on my hair and that seems to be the trick to making this stuff work well.

I haven't tried any other dry shampoo products yet but I have one in the wings and I will be comparing them once I do. However, I suspect I will stay true to this one because of the smell if nothing else.
Perfect! Works better than described!

In high school, I swam competitively and showered (and washed my hair) daily. At age 16, this is fine, but as you age (and become more busy) it's impossible to wash and dry and straighten (or style) long hair every day.

In college, I began shampooing every other day, and wore a ponytail on the days I didn't shampoo - BLAH! Batiste is great - you shake the can HARD, spray lightly and evenly on the part in your hair and rub into your scalp, then brush out. I will then part my hair again (about 4 times total) all along the top of my head and spray evenly, rub with fingers, and then brush out. The spray absorbs most oil and even adds some body to the roots! It even works well after you sweat at the gym (I recommend lightly and coolly blow-drying your roots, then using Batiste to touch up). No, Batiste is not exactly the same as a real shampoo - you won't get the same results, but 75% is better than the 0 I was getting before!

Now, I only have to shampoo every third day, instead of every other day like when I started using Batiste. Most people don't know, but shampooing is a self-defeating premise - the more you shampoo, the quicker your roots become greasy. After a month of using Batiste (for the days in between shampooing), I need less product than I used to, and only shampoo every third day.

I've tried baby powder on my roots before - it just makes brown or black hair look gray! The only draw back is the scent is a little strong, but my boyfriend claims it smells almost as good as a fresh shampoo. Batiste is money well spent on the 6+ hours I now have every week!
Works Great!

I have very, very fine hair. My hair gets oily around my face and bangs. If I wash my hair in the morning, by afternoon my bangs are already looking oily and stuck together. I bought this for after golf when I have "hat head" and my hair is realy looking greasy and flat. After I use this product, I can go in the clubhouse without my hat and my hair looks pretty good! This product smelled good and worked great! Plus the can is small enough so I can put it in my purse. I didn't think the smell was overpowering, and I thought the results were long lasting.
FANTASTIC PRODUCT...WOW!

Ok, let me start off by saying WOW! I just opened my package of this product tonight and I am incredibly impressed. My hair is very long and straight and not very thick, It looks fantastic if I shower and dry my hair, but after the day or night is thru my hair looks limp, and gets very greasy looking very fast, I HATE IT! I have been sick the past few days and I havent taken a shower in 3 days. My hair was pulled up in a sloppy bun and greasy as hell, and I never expected this spray could help, but wanted to see how it worked and whatnot. Let me tell you, MY HAIR LOOKS LIKE I JUST GOT OUT OF THE SHOWER AND SPENT AN HOUR DRYING AND STRAIGHTENING IT! With less than 5 minutes time spent on it. Yes there is a mild residue and its definitely not as good as a real wash, but all things considered, it is pretty damn impressive. I will definitely buy more. Smells great too.
Best item I've used in years!

My daughter got me hooked onto this product and everyday I thank my lucky stars. I have been washing my hair everyday since I was about 15 years old. Those days are gone! I use Batiste Dry Shampoo every other day and couldn't be happier with the results. In fact, I look forward to my every "other day" because my hair actually looks better the second day than it did when it was freshly washed. It makes my hair thicker and holds a style. It gives my hair fullness I've never had before.
Great!

I love this stuff! The smell is nice- some people said it was grandmothery, but I'd say it's more tropical and beachy. It's strong smelling at first, but the scent wears off pretty fast. The shampoo works great. I have really dark hair, so when I spray it in it's white, but it brushes though easily. If there's any left I usually just blow dry the rest of the powder out. It also works great if you spray it into your hair the night before- you wake up with clean looking and smelling hair and limited white powder!
I love this product!

My hair gets oily very fast. I wash it at night and sometimes the next morning my bangs are greasy (because of my greasy forehead), so I spray some Batiste on it and it looks freshly washed. Also, I only wash my hair every OTHER day - it's better for your hair, keeps it healthy - so because my hair is oily, I use Batiste on it and the girls at work so it looks like my hair has been freshly washed! PLUS, it smells like coconut - I love it!
Great if youre in a hurry

> pros: Great smell (better than the other batiste dry shampoos)
~~lasts all day
~~Actually does what it should... gets rid of the greasy feeling of dirty hair

> cons: White residue can take a while to brush out if you have dark hair like me. BUT it does fade, just keep brushing until its gone.
~~can make hair feel a little dry where you apply it, but that's the trade off for not looking like bum I suppose

its no substitute for a shower, but it'll do :)
Overall awesome product!

I love love love what this product can do. I have greasy hair and normally wash my hair once a day. I am now able to go 3 days without washing my hair. I actually prefer to use this product even when my hair is clean b/c it gives my hair tons of body and easy to manage. I don't really like the smell of it, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

It's raining, or snowing outside, and you have to run an errand. Your hair is just not as great as it should be today. So with a spray, fluff, and brush you are good to go. Run the kids to school, get the milk, go to your yoga class, then come home and take a long hot bath, shampoo, condition, and relax with a candles. This product leaves your hair smelling great, looking good, and is one of those quick fixes that actually works and frees you to just pop out and do those quick unexpected trips looking great!
Good stuff, Great Price. Rated the same as the $20 kinds!

This is great, and it does exactly what it says it will do. I work in the engineering field, and have to wear a hardhat all day. My hair builds up oil, and when I get out of work, I don't want to have greasy hair if we go out to dinner or have a drink. This stuff gets rid of that! Also, I have gotten up late and hadn't had time for a shampoo. This takes your hair from "eew, its greasy" to "pretty good". There's no substitute for the real thing, but this is pretty good! Follow the directions though! Mine doesn't clog, I shake it, like the directions say, and I spray from >30cm away.

For those of you who don't like the scent, its not a perfume! Its a hair product! Spray perfume in your hair or something! Or try the tropical kind.

Enjoy!
Works great, smells great

If you color your hair a product like this is a must. Stop washing your color down the drain. Even using this dry shampoo once per week will save you money in the long run. I also like to use it immediately after a regular shampoo and dry to give my thin straight hair some lift at the root.
Great for thin fine hair!

For me this product works great. It is nice not having to wash my hair everyday especially because I have thin fine hair. It also seems to give my hair some body because of the slight residue it does leave in, the curl actually stays in all day when I use it. For my hair that is unbelievable. Glad I found this product, will buy again.

I've purchased this product a while ago and I am just starting to run out of it. I don't use it on a regular basis, but it still lasts longer than all the other dry shampoos I have tried.
On top of that, it smells good. It's not expensive either compared to other dry shampoos. I will stick with it for now.
A true bargain

I have to say, the smell that bothers others didn't bother me at all. It's not unpleasant, and does a good job of freshening up hair after being around smokers or other elements that would require a hair washing.

This product is much cheaper than anything else I've found. I picked it up at a local beauty supply place and it has worked perfectly for me. I have thick hair that normally only lasts 36 hours before it MUST be washed - this product helps me spread out hair washings, which is much healthier for my hair.

The only time I had trouble with this product was when I was learning how to use it, and sprayed it on too heavily. Since then I've taken it on every trip, and it's been a lifesaver with this broken foot of mine. I recommend it to everyone.
Great Product!

I was leary about buying this dry shampoo because I'm very sensitive to smells. But after reading the reviews on line I thought it would be worth a try. I LOVE it! It works great on that second day after I've washed my hair and it has a very pleasant smell that dissapates quickly. I highly recommend it.

I bought this to create body for my thin, oriental-like hair (saw this as a tip somewhere), and I like it. In addition, it helps with oily hair at my temples. The smell of the Tropical version is not bad---just different. This is my first can of any brand of dry shampoo, and I'll buy 5 cans next time to cut down on shipping costs (maybe this will last me a year since I only use it once or twice a week). Also, I have not had any problems with the nozzle clogging, etc.

I recently purchased this product after being disappointed by the Rockaholic dry shampoo, it wouldn't spray after a few uses. This one way outshines that product. The only flaw is that it doesn't smell as good, a spritz of hairspray fixes that promblem though! Will definitly keep using this product!

Having been a faithful Ojon Rub Out Dry Cleanser user for two years, I eventually got tired of the price but more so the fact that 1 out of every 2 bottles had a faulty nozzle. Because I have color treated hair, I try to only wash my hair 2-3 times a week so a dry shampoo is a necessity for me. I did a little research and read the reviews for Batiste. I will admit I was hesitant at first because of how inexpensive it was but I am so glad I took the gamble. This product works just as well as Ojon and is way more cost effective. Even with my dark red hair I don't have a problem getting the powder to shake out and the smell is manageable (I'm not going to say the smell is the most fantastic thing ever but it's really not THAT bad).
Fantastic product.

Girlfriend's exact words: "I honestly do not think there is a dry shampoo that works as well as this product!
Just to give a little background: I have been using it for about 2 months now. I am the type to only wash my hair every other day. I would not say I have extremely greasy hair or dry. I do color my hair often.
Every day that I do not wash my hair, I use this.. and it makes my hair feel just like it did the day before. It lasts for about... 10-15 hours depending on how much you touch your hair(or how windy it is outside). It works well even if you have already sprayed your hair earlier that day. If you want to curl your hair but you don't have time to shower and curl, then just spray it on before curling. Your curls may not hold quite as well, but they will last almost as long as they would on clean hair.

Highly recommended!!"

I recently went looking for a dry shampoo just to try it and an employee at a beauty store recommended Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo. While I wash my hair each day w/ regular shampoo, I love this product for right around my hair line because it has a tendency to get oily. This product is great. The price is not bad and I will con't to buy this product in the future.

I have very greasy hair and need to wash my hair everyday but then the ends get really dry. I first discovered the Very Sexy dry shampoo and loved it but it is like $15 for a bottle that you go through in 2 weeks. Read the reviews for Batiste and liked the price much better. I just got it in the mail and have used it twice, I absolutely love it! It smells great (I got the Tropical) and worked really well throughout the day. I will definitely buy this product again!

I have pretty fine, very straight hair that gets oily quick. I also dye my hair, and want to limit shampooing to cut down on color fading. This stuff works like magic. Not only is my hair looking clean and freshly washed in an instant, but it has VOLUME. My boyfriend actually made the comment,"Wow! It looks like you had your hair styled in a salon." My only tiny complaint is that even though the smell is pleasant, it is very strong initially. I have to keep the vent on in the bathroom, with the door closed. Because the product works so well, I can easily overlook the strength of the perfume, which quickly fades anyway.
I'm impressed!

The packaging looks like it's from the 70s, so I was really hesitant to purchase this product. I'm so happy that I gave it a try! I have naturally curly hair that I straighten daily. My hair was getting dried out from the constant washing and ironing so I tried washing my hair every other day. The result, extremely greasy hair! I tried baby powder but that didn't work too well. This product is perfect for me and works really well on my hair. You do have to follow the directions and make sure that you let it sit on your hair a few minutes before brushing. This step is key. I have very dark hair and I didn't see any white residue. It took away the grease and even left my hair with a bit of volume. I bought the blush scent which isn't my favorite but it's not overpowering. Smells like baby powder. Next time I will try the tropical scent.

It was a little hard to find in stores but I did find it a local "beauty store" not a chain. It was $8.99 for the bottle, so it's cheaper on this site although I'm not sure what it would come to after shipping. When I asked the owner of the store if she had ever tried it, she told me that she didn't, but that they have trouble keeping it on the shelves because it's such a popular item. I can believe it!

I haven't tried other dry shampoos so I can't compare it to others that are on the market, but I don't really think I have to experiment. I can't imagine anything working better than this. Highly recommended!

After years of having to wash my hair every single morning I was relieved to come across this product. I found it easy to use and very effective. It doesn't add volume but allows me wear my hair up and have it not look so oily. I am finally able to wash my hair every other day. I didn't mind the smell and it went away completely after a few minutes. I was worried when I first sprayed it on that I would not be able to get out that white color but it actually comes out really fast when I brushed my hair. I would highly recommend this product.

I have really thick blonde hair that tends to get really greasy and heavy the second day. I color my hair so if I wash every day it gets really dry. This stuff is AMAZING! A few sprays at the roots and my hair looks better than when I just fixed it. It really is a life changer to be able to have your hair look incredible in about 3 minutes flat! Does leave a bit of a white residue which I actually don't mind as it brightens up my dark blonde roots.

I have moderately oily hair, and my bangs especially get oily between washes. A few sprays of this perks my hair right back up when I feel that my hair is a little oily but doesn't necessarily need a wash just yet. It also gives my roots just a little bit of volume, which I like. Others have complained about the smell but I like it!

Batiste Dry Shampoo is great to have on hand for those days when you just cannot wash your hair or get to the hairdressing salon, and something important comes up at the last minute. It "dries" out the oil in hair and gets rid of excess hairspray and grooming products so you can attend that important event/meeting etc. and look your best. Have been using it for years and it seems less "chalky" than the other brands around. Also good for people who have to be in a hospital bed and are not allowed to wash their hair - Batiste will get a person through for about 3 days with "cleaner" feeling hair.

I now order this by the 6-packs! I have shoulder-length,fairly fine hair, that gets oily every day. As recommended by professionals, it's best not to shampoo each day, but that's almost an impossibility for me. This solves that problem....it's amazing how well it works...refreshing my hair, taking out the oils that weigh it down, and giving me a quick fix. This is not just for nursing home patients...I'm 51, and I also had my Mom try it on her fine hair...she also gives it a thumbs up. I will be purchasing the travel size, as it will be invaluable to me. Try it!

Compared to the other dry shampoos out there, Batiste is really a great deal. It does what it is supposed to do for a relatively low price and the "tropical" smells like coconuts. I am extremely pleased with it, and will be buying this and the "blush" one again. I have tried other name brand dry shampoo sprays, and I am not going back. Batiste is totally reliable, and does what I need it to do! The only reason why you shouldn't get this "tropical" version is if you don't like the smell of coconuts. If that's your turnoff, try the "blush" which has a light, pleasant fragrance. By the way, I am extremely sensitive, and neither fragrance bothered me.

It actually gives it tons of volume as well. It does go on powdery, but the powder brushes right out. My hair has been so much healthier because I only have to blow dry and flat iron every couple of days versus every day.

The first few times I used this, it didn't work. But that is because I read the review that stated it made hair stiff and then another recommending that you only use a little. Apparently, I wasn't using enough! I have VERY oily hair, and about 1/2 way through the 2nd day after a washing, it starts to look stringy and greasy. Yuck! The trick with this seems to be to spray on enough so that you see a little white foam on your hair and then brush it through your hair. I do 4 sections: top front, left side, right side, and top back. This seems to do the trick and my hair looks clean for the rest of the day. The one drawback is that it seems to accentuate my gray roots. I have a sprinkling of gray hair. I color my roots on a regular basis, but there is always a little showing. For some reason, when I use this product, the gray seems more noticeable. Ah, well... I've earned every gray hair I have!

This really works. I have very fine hair and I have to wash it EVERY day or it looks very oily. With this shampoo I can skip a day if I need to! I'm not crazy about the smell but it's not bad or unbearable, just not my taste. The only thing I don't like about it is getting white powder in my hairbrush when I use it but I bought a spare brush just to use with this, problem solved. Love this product.

This dry shampoo is a nice alternative to regular washing, to make your hair treatment (coloring, keratin, etc.) last longer. I like the tropical scent. Spray about 12 inches from your head at the roots parting in sections; wait 3-5 minutes and then comb or brush through. I have not tried any powder dry shampoos yet, but this dry spray works very well. Good price.

Great item- really like this dry shampoo. Have been using Batiste Original Scent for a few years now and am happy with my new discovery- Blush Scent. Product does not add ANY residue to hair-- very important and hard to find! It does not add weird film or powdery mess to hair nor scalp. Hair remains feeling light and fresh (or as fresh as dirty hair can possibly feel). Love this product.

I have tried many of the dry shampoos on the market and think that Batiste is hands-down the best value for the money. It works well on my super-super-oily hair (when I say super, I mean it needs to be washed every 12 hours). After using the product, my hair doesn't look quite as good as when it's freshly washed, but I'm able to skip a day of shampooing and get away with wearing my hair down for most of the day. It also doesn't leave too much residue on my hair or scalp. My only issue is with the smell. I can't adequately describe it other than saying that it's just not pleasant. It's not a bad smell, it just takes some getting used to. Klorane is my favorite line, but it's terribly pricey. Algemarin doesn't work quite as well, but smells better. Bumble & Bumble is an utter sham.

i have tried several dry shampoos and this one is my second favorite (my favorite was made by Samy and has been discontinued). I hated paying big bucks for the name brands (Bumble&Bumble, Keratase, etc.) and was convinced that i could find a cheaper alternative. This dry shampoo costs less than $8 (look around, some places sell it for $5, some for $11...you just have to be savvy about it) and works just as well as the pricey brands.

The best way to use it is to spray through roots while slightly lifting and parting the hair, let it sit in hair for 3-5 minutes (don't worry that it will look gray or powdery in some areas) and then rake fingers thru hair blending it in from roots to tips, lastly, take a bristle brush and comb thru to continue blending any that is left. if you use too much and feel that you can still see powdery areas just keep blending with your fingers or the brush and spray less next time. If you use way too much towel dry your hair with a damp towel.
Nice smell!

I was hesitant to buy the other 2 versions of this product; I imagined that the Tropical would make my hair smell like pineapple, and a few customers said didn't like the other smell. I am picky with smells, specially anything that goes in my hair - in fact I prefer my hair products to be fragrance-free. Then this Blush version came along, and I gave it a try... The smell is a pleasant floral, nice and not overpowering. It disappears after a little while, and I can only smell it in myself if I intentionally sniff, looking for it. As for how it works, I cannot say much as I haven't compared it to other brands yet (I'm new to dry shampoos), but to me it works fine and I'm happy with the results.

product was shipped quickly and i was excited to try it...upon my first attempt to use the product, the spray nozzle stuck in the spray position and i had to pull it up to get it to stop spraying...(hmmm, very pleasant scent)...i tried again, with the same result...the third time i tried, the nozzle came completely off and product continued to spray all over my bathroom, completely out of control....i had to hurry and smother the can inside a grocery bag that was in the garbage can...the little bit that i got in my hair (which was dirty at the time) seemed to have made a difference, but it was hard to know for sure...i sent an email to the the seller relaying my experience and asking what they could do for me...i got a very prompt response stating 'sounds like you need a new Batiste right away at no charge!'...my new order came quickly and included a travel size of the same product and a sample of moisturizer, very nice surprise!...this new spray can works fine and i love the product!...i have very oily hair that has to be shampood every day, now i can skip a day now and then with no problem, it makes my hair soft and seems to give it volume which is a welcome surprise...would be a definite 5 star experience had my first can not been faulty, customer service was exceptional! =]

I never used dry shampoo before, so I bought the "tropical Batiste Spray" ($6) and "Oscar blandi Pronto powder" ($11) dry shampoo. My hair would become greasy about 5 hours after washing it, so I wanted something to use while at work about halfway between my shift. I tried and liked both products, but neither product was perfect. I have very fine hair and when I applied either product my hair would become staticky. This was probably because both product suggest that a natural bristle brush be used after apply, and using this kind of brush on my fine hair really doesn't work. But I have to say that instead of being greasy my hair took on more of a nice sheen than greasy look. I would definitly recommend either product..both worked...but the price of the Batiste is a much better deal (no need to spend more if you don't need to).
Getting a second bottle soon

Review Date: September 27, 2009
Reviewer: ooobs,
I have to buy a second bottle because I dropped my current one on the bathroom floor and it broke. The can effectively punctured and product sprayed everywhere but...not complaining...the contents ARE under pressure. It was actually really easy to clean up.

I kept seeing this in beauty magazines. Until about a year ago I washed and blow-dried my hair every day (my hair is fine but dense). I started liking the second day hair better, started getting really sick of every day washing and styling and did a 360. I now wash my hair as little as possible! But one thig I hate is the smell of unwashed hair, which I always notice on other people. I use this on day 3. It buys me an extra day and never fails. I actually use it before bed (on day 2) and there's no residue in the morning. If I do use it in the mornings I brush it out. Then just use a flat iron and it looks great!

As for the smell...I like it. It's citrusy and therefore really helps get rid of cigarette smoke and that "dirty hair" smell. The only complaint about the smell is that it's slightly "old fashioned", but hey, the product has been around for 30 years.

It's now a part of my hair arsenal forever more. I might try a different scent this time depending on other's reviews. Something else I stopped doing is using products before I blow dry. I also think this helps keep hair cleaner longer. I used to think products like frizz ease and gel would help me straighten my hair but they're more just psychological. Hairdressers never use product on me before they blow dry. It's all about using the right technique, dryer nozzle, and brushes.

I have long blonde fine hair that gets a little greasy the day after shampooing. This product works better than I thought it would!! Got rid of the greasies all day - and woke up the next morning with non-greasy hair too! Very impressed, especially for the price. Not sure if it would show up gray on darker hair, but that seems to be a complaint. Smells a little weird, but not bad... plus, the smell doesn't stay longer than a couple mins anyway. Downside: leaves white residue all over my bathroom counter, floor, etc. Use in a well-ventilated area/outside... inconvenient obviously, but I don't think there's much the company can do about that. Highly recommended.

This product does exactly what I need, it's an almost instant fix. Some people complained about the smell and I was really nervous about purchasing it, but I gave it a shot and I actually don't mind the smell at all- I even like it a little. I bought the Batiste original to see the difference between the two and I can't stand the smell of the original. Definitely go with the Tropical! There's no difference aside from the terrible smell. I will say that the smell doens't seem to linger for long and that's nice. :)

With my scalp being so oily I was having to wash it every day, which dried out the rest of my hair terribly. This dry shampoo allows me to skip a day and still look presentable. It leaves a little bit of white powder on my hair, but thats easily removed with a dry boar bristle brush and a damp q-tip along my part line where the scalp shows. The original scent is allright, but I prefer the tropical scent which is something like a pinia colada fragrance, or the blossom scent which is just kind of flowery. I have tried several other brands, but they are more expensive with comparable results. This product has definately helped me look my best without saccrafice.

so great - gets you through another day before washing. *tip - if you spray it on the roots and then leave it for a couple minutes, it'll absorb in more and then you can pat away any remaining that you can see. if you try to get rid of the 'gray' look immediately you'll just wipe most of it back off.
does leave a tiny bit of gray look if you don't pat down well. also i have light colored hair - not sure if this would be more problematic for darker hair. i haven't tried any other brands, but for how cheap this one is i'm happy to stick with it.

I've always been 1 to shower every other day and my hair remains really healthy because of it. When I had long hair, the oilyness of my hair wasn't such an issue, because I could just pull it back the second day. But with my short hairdo, it looks so oily by day 2. I was resorting to washing my hair every day. Well, I got this, and it works really well! I just spray on and use a bristle brush to smooth through my hair. It soaks the oil right up leaving my hair looking just washed. My only problem is that my hair sticks up in all directions in the morning. I haven't tried it on wet down hair, and I don't have time to blow dry in the morning. I've taken to putting the can and brush in my purse to use at work once my hair has dried.
I use the tropical smell. It's really light, not overwealming at all. There is a split second when you spray it that it has a smell mch like just sprayed hair spray, but it goes away extremely fast!
I will definately buy more!

I bought this product as I was recommended to use dry shampoo so that I could lengthen the time between washing my hair with water. I myself am currently trying to keep the color auburn/red in my hair and let me tell you it has been a pain in the butt. However, ever since I purchased this item, I have had much less triumph!

This particular brand doesn't have an overpowering smell, however it does smell like coconuts so if you aren't a fan I'd suggest a different scent from this brand. I even spray this in my bangs sometimes for some body. It cleans your hair quite well for a dry shampoo, though it's the first and only that I have ever used at this point.

If you have a darker shade of hair it's a bit frustrating to brush the white powder produced out of your hair completely so it does make your hair less shiny. Aside from that, this product has pretty much been added to my 'must have' in life, or at least some form of it.

Now if only it smelled like CHI. (:

I was skeptical in trying a dry shampoo. I've researched them and trying to find one was becoming a bittersweet task. I saw Batiste dry shampoo seeing it was economical in price and had great reviews, so it was a win-win for me. I have fine oily hair that I'm required to wash everyday just to get that clean feeling and avoiding an oily scalp. I used the Batiste and not only did it soak up the oiliness, but there was a lot of volume as well! Not to mention the tropical scent is not too bad either. I will be sticking to this dry shampoo for a good while.

I have very thin, oily hair. I like to use this product at the end of the day, after work before anything that evening instead of having to wash it again. It adds volume nicely. I would not recommend it for a 2nd day if you have oily hair. I just found it to become sort of gummy in my hair and made it stick together rather than provide volume.

All in all, good product at a great price from Amazon. I found it in a salon for 3 times the price.

The best part about this product is the smell. It works about as well as baby powder and does not last for a long time. I have really oily hair and I try to avoid washing it every day but it usually needs it to look suitable to leave the house, so i figured i'd give this a try. The dry shampoo leaves a bit of a residue so make sure you're boyfriend doesn't run his hands through your hair! Overall I was a little disappointed but I suppose I was expecting miracles.

This is an OK dry shampoo. I have tried the TIGI Rockaholic dry shampoo, as well as the Batiste Original and Batiste Blush.
- Both Batiste Original and Blush leave my hair smelling like I have a strong product in, but it does not give me the clean feeling I get from the Rockaholic. With the Rockaholic I feel like I really washed my hair, but with the Batiste it makes me want to go back home and was it fast. Not a clean feeling.
- Rockaholic really gets rid of all the oils on my scalp, literally breaking them down. Because of this I also get a lot of volume on my roots. This did not happen with Batiste.
Overall, Batiste is an OK product but I wouldn't repurchase. (On the other hand, Rockaholic only lasted me for a month because the dispenser tends to get clogged or waste (?) some product). I've only had the Batiste spray for 2 weeks so I can't evaluate it on the quality of the dispenser/packaging yet.
Hope this is helpful.

I have very long, thick wavy hair that gets oily at the roots 12 hours after I wash it. I can't wash my hair daily because it dries it out severely, so I shampoo every other day. I sprayed the dry shampoo when my hair begun to get oily, and it did take the oil out, but I needed to spray more probably 5 or 6 hours later. It also leaves residue in your hair but it's easy to shake or brush out. I also needed quite a bit of the product to do the job. I switched back to using baby powder because the baby powder keeps the oil at bay for a good 24 hours without re-application. I would continue to use this product, but it's not practical for me to carry around the can in my purse and use it when I'm out and about.

The Batiste Blossom smells good but somewhat messy. I didn't know it was white powder so was surprised to see my very dark hair covered in white powder, though it did brush out. Didn't do much for my scalp which is what really needs freshening. Expensive for what you get. I found the Weave Organic Root Stimulator hair freshener that eliminates odor and freshens hair, oil free, 4 oz at $4.99 at a beauty supply store that caters to African-American clientele. It's non-aerosol. I spray it lightly in my hair and in my hands that I rub through my scalp. It dries pretty quickly on it's own; or can blow dry. It works well but use a light tough; otherwise your hair will be soaking wet. Bumble and Bumble's hair powder is AWFUL and very very expensive -- do not buy!

I read the warnings but didn't listen. I used it as soon as it arrived and it worked pretty well, the smell was overwhelming but it settled down after awhile. I was happy until a few days later I went to use it again and it had leaked all over the inside of the cap and the can was completely empty. Anything containing potatoe starch is probably going to clog. I don't know why they dont use a spray pump!?

I wouldn't buy this again. I mean, it does absorb some oil, but it leaves white residue in my dark brown hair even if I brush and blow it out. Also, it makes your hair really dull/matte...like, not in a good way. So then I have to use some shine spray. When it's all said and done, the time it takes to spray this stuff in, brush, blow, and refix...I could have just washed my hair again. I have thin, fine hair. Maybe it would work on different hair. Good luck dirty hair dudettes!!

I guess it did what it was supposed to - made my unwashed hair look a little cleaner in a pinch.

However, the can is an AEROSOL SPRAY, something that wasn't clear from the description. This makes it hard to aim without spraying toxins into one's eyes, and is unneccessary, since it's just a type of cornstarch powder product. Plus, it has that disgusting odor that all aerosol hairsprays seem to have. It made me sneeze and my hair stink the whole day, despite the attempt to cover it up with fragrence. I threw it away after one use.

TROPICAL Batiste Dry Shampoo: This product does the job effectively - absorbs the oil so I can skip one day of washing my hair as long as I put it in a ponytail. Unfortunately, my husband freaked out over the smell. It actually drove him out of the bathroom a full 15 minutes after I was done spraying it and had left. Did you catch that??? The SMELL actually drove a MAN out of the BATHROOM. He said (and this is a quote) "it's like somebody dug up their dead grandmother who was buried wearing tons of old lady perfume. Yeah, it's nasty old lady perfume with an essence of decay." Hmmmm... come to think of it, this probably says more about the mental health of my husband than it does about this product. Anyway, I used it once and threw it away due to the scent - I didn't think I could stomach any more horrific "smell" comparisons from the hubby. Personally, I didn't think it was that bad, but that may be due to my sense of smell being destroyed by allergies. Consider yourself warned.

I have long, very straight, very fine hair. I did not find that this product did anything for me...other than add a sorta fresh-ish smell. It did not perk up my roots...did not make it look less oily or more bouncy. I honestly, feel like it just added more weight. Maybe this product works better on thicker, curlier hair....but it did not let me skip a day of washing, as I had hoped.

I found this product in a local beauty shop and figured I'd give it a try, being that it was a fraction of the cost of the dry-shampoo I normally use. I have been known to be overly scent-sensitive, which certainly could be a factor in this, but as has been mentioned, the smell of this product made it impossible for me to use - I wound up throwing it away after trying to get used to it a few times. it's this weird citrusy/babypowderish combination that is utterly sickening. on top of this, I didn't find the product itself to work all that successfully when compared to other similar products I have used. all in all, I do not recommend the batiste dry shampoo - the price is enticing, but the poor quality ruins any price advantage.

I am one of these people that should wash my hair every other day, but actually get around to it after about 3-4 days. Before I used Batiste Dry Shampoo, I was stuck with ponytails and "messy buns" for the last day or two. But now, I simply lift up each section around my head, spritz and BOOM! Perfect texture and that bedhead we all tried to achieve years ago, but failed to do.

I cannot stress enough that I only vouch for the original scent.

this makes your hair white while spraying and the fumes from the bottle is intoxicating. This product is not good if you have oily type hair.
