Design blends into room & functions well

I didn't want a humidifier with a filter because those are nasty and the filters are expensive and hard to find. I hate the look of a white plastic humidifier as they stick out like a sore thumb. This Crane teardrop humidifier looks funky by itself against a white background online but in a room it really blends into a decor. They should do a bigger range of colors and include some neutrals like brown but I think the green would work in any room. We have one in the nursery and in our master BR. It is a very effective humidifier but doesn't run out of water too quickly so it's efficient. It gets smelly/dirty as they all do, but we clean it out a couple times a week plus put a bit of vinegar in the water which is naturally antibacterial and healthy to breathe. If you don't put too much vinegar in you won't smell it in the air. I put about a tablespoon of vinegar in the tank. It is quiet. Makes a gurgling noise once in a while. We had the frog one before for the nursery and this one is better IMO, for those looking for a humidifier for a baby room.
Best Humidifier Yet

After a few bad experiences with Vicks (Kaz), I switched to the 'Hello Kitty' Crane for my daughter's room and was thrilled with the performance. Trusting that the Crane name would hold up from model to model, I purchased this pink teardrop for my own bedroom. Well, I was not disappointed... I cannot even hear this thing running! Ok, I hear a few raindrops (whatever you want to call them) as all humidifiers have, but I think it stands out because it's the ONLY sound this thing makes -- Wow! I was worried the steam wouldn't come out too strong because the picture looked like the nozzle was small, but it outputs way more than 'Hello Kitty' and I need to keep it on low in my 10x12 room. The nightlight does not have an off switch as 'Kitty' does, but no worries... it is more of an 'on' indicator light as oopposed to a nightlight like the 'Kitty'. For instance, I can't see my way out of the room at night - it is VERY muted. I like the 'Kitty' nightlight for my daughter's room and I like this muted version for my room. Maybe they did that on purpose - kid vs. adult.
Best humidifier I've ever owned

Cool Mist-This is the first time I've had a cool mist humidifer like this. I love that I don't have to add any salt to the water, like I had to do for my last steam humidifier. And it doesn't need a water filter, and thus no filter maintenance like other cool steam humidifiers!

Settings Used & Refilling-I keep it on the lowest setting and only have to refill it once a day, which is perfect for me!

Noise-On the lowest setting, you have to go right up to it in order to hear it. I don't notice any noise at all when I'm in the room.

Location Placed-I actually put this right on my hardwood floor in my bedroom (reminder: don't put it on carpet). That way it is a little more discreet. The mist goes up into the air, and I've never had any moisture on the floor--I've checked.

Color and Shape-I was a little nervous at first ordering a humidifer in bright green, but I truly love it. It's a little bit fun, but also suprisingly more neutral with my decor than the white and blue version would be. The green color actually works the best in most rooms of my house, despite different color schemes. The drop shape was also a bit different to me at first, but I think it's kind of fun and sophisticated.

Maintenance-You do need to replace the water daily. If it sits, mold WILL start to grow. This did happen once to me, but it was my own fault because I let it sit for a few days with stale water sitting in it. It was super easy to clean back up though. Just a little white vinegar added to some water and everything wiped up easily. This also took care of some hard water deposits starting to develop. Officially, you should clean it with vinegar or something once a week, but if your water isn't too hard I think you could stretch it out quite a bit longer between cleanings. (I've only cleaned it once so far in about a month since I've owned it.) And there's no filter to worry about cleaning!

Value-I think it's a great value! I would definitely recommend it!!
my piano likes it

Reviewer: S. Scoville,
On the advice of my piano tuner, I bought this little humidifier to place near my grand piano in NYC. It gets really cold and dry here in winter and my piano is over 100 years old. This really helped to keep the air immediately around the piano moist and is quiet and unobtrusive perched on a wide window sill. It is EASY to clean, easy to fill and keeps going at a low to moderate pace for almost 12 hours. Perfect for me. Perfect for my piano.
Cute and compact model

I purchased in the lime green and I really like the color, design and size. It fits nicely on my nightstand and is very quiet. It also steams out the water rather than spewing it out, which my cheapie Walgreens one did. No need for a towel underneath this one. You can also use regular water, some others say to use distilled and this is smaller unit so easy to refill and carry. I highly recommend.
Great looking, great working so far...

So much better looking than than most humidifiers (that look like they belong along side a hospital bed). Love the ability to direct the mist by just turning the top of the unit. Haven't run the unit all the way down to test the auto-shut off. You do notice a decrease in mist as the water runs down, but is still not nearly empty - only way to increase during this 'low' water level is to turn up dial to increase output.
Does the job

Very simple to use, quiet and moisturizes the room.

The only drawback is that you have to sit it somewhere away from paper or anything else that is nearby that you don't want to get wet. The mist is so fine you won't notice it at first but, after it being on all night, items will get wet. So I suppose that means it's doing it's job!
Appears to be a good buy

We have used this one for a few days and nights now. Well built. Easy to fill. Turns off when empty.
Great!

This product worked exactly as advertised and I received it when promised. The bonus is the excellent customer service. I called because after using the humidifier constantly for a few weeks, I noticed a white film on my television. The woman I spoke to spent so much time with me discussing what to do, very patient and unhurried. I would definitely buy from this company again because of that. Also, you can't beat how cute the humidifier looks!
Works great!

Works as advertised and have no problems so far. Make sure you pick a setting before you plug it in or it will not turn on.
Wonderful!

Just buy it! It does not need a filter and it's super quiet. Also, when they say quiet, they really mean it, how shocking. I have a Graco one for our baby's room and quiet is like a turbo fan turned on. This is a wonderful easy to clean product. I'll be getting another one I'm sure of it.
Exactly what the Dr. ordered.

I cannot imagine how to improve this product. It is nearly silent and is variable from a trickle to a train load of mist. My family is feeling better already!
Attractive, easy to use, and oh-so-quiet

Reviewer: C. Manganaro,
I bought this to help make my radiator-heated apartment more livable. It does a good job of putting moisture into the air, but has not been enough on its own to remedy a really dry one bedroom apartment. This is more effective to use in a bedroom. One of the best features, beyond the fact that there is no annoying and disgusting wick required, is that it is extremely quiet. I would buy this again without a doubt. It requires refilling fairly often, but the easy of refilling makes this not a problem.
Mixed feelings about this one...

Reviewer: L. Rasmussen,
We purchase this product in pink and green for both of our kids' rooms. We really like them, BUT it's hard to keep them full all night which can be frustrating. If we set them to a very low mist we can almost make it. Also, the output chamber stays very wet, so refilling the water can be QUITE messy...have a towel handy. We do not have the optional filter, so we always use distilled water to prevent the white buildup. I DID use (softened) tap water in a pinch one night and we found that after only 8 hours of use overnight there was a significant amount of white residue in the output chamber and the base. I wiped it out and vowed never to use tap water again as there is NO way to get inside the unit and wipe it out thoroughly...another frustration. STILL, are we happy? Sure. It's a cute design and seems to keep the kids illness' at bay. We'll take good care of these and hope for a good long life of use.
does the job

It works better than any cold humidifier I have used. As long as it is off the ground the floor is dry. Fill it up and it will last all night.
Florida Girl with a Humidifier???

This is my first humidifier so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. I am a Florida girl now living in Maryland and couldn't believe that I was actually buying a humidifier.
Pros - love the green color, love the shape, like that you can adjust the amount of cool mist that comes out, like that you can control the direction of the mist, the tank is easy to fill, and for our needs we only have to fill it once every 12 - 24 hours. And best of all, we have a humidity monitor in our house and the humidity level does go up when we keep the humidifier going!
Cons - when you remove the tank, the water that is sitting in the bottom looks cloudy and gross. The humidifier parts seem to get slimy and red mildewy (like a fish tank) pretty quickly. I tried putting a bit of vinegar in the tank as was suggested by someone else by it didn't seem to make much difference.
Works well

Reviewer: Erica,
I purchased this humidifier about a month ago. It's attractive and works well, especially for the price. It is also very nice that I don't continually have to purchase filters. I have only two issues with it, neither a big deal: it just barely makes it through the night if completely full and running on high; and it a pain to haul the entire water container to the sink to refill it -- pouring water into it would have been much better design feature. However, neither of these issues detract from the fact that it is a worthwhile purchase.
Very good product, could be improved further...

We purchased this product a couple of weeks ago. It is very quiet, very efficient, and does the job. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The reason I gave four stars was because I wish filling the water container would be easier i.e. I wish I could just pour water from a top opening somewhere, rather than removing the entire water container. Very good product though...
good machine. small water volume

A really cute humidifier - I purchased it because of its competative price. However the only issue I have is that it doesnt hold very much water. I have it on often and am always refilling it. Also wished it was more self cleaning but its ok. Happy with my purchase even with the size
Nice shape but...

Reviewer: J. Du,
It was defective upon arrival. No mist emitted with power on but the fan worked well. I have to return this item. However, the shape is great and the color is really nice to have at home.
Not sure if product was defective or just does not work well

Reviewer: K. White,
I recently purchased this product from Amazon and found it does not work properly. I did not determine whether the product leaked or just emitted steam to thickly, but the floor around the humidifier would get soaking wet. Hopefully, it was just defective, but I purchased a different brand humidifier (Vicks Warm Humidifier - it's great!) instead of trying another Crane! Use with caution.
