Great item to keep my photo gear free from moisture

| I purchase two of the Eva-dry EDV-500 renewable DeHumidifer and hang them inside the closet where I store my photo gears. Although in California is not so humid but little moisture do add up. This dehumidifer is so easy to use -- unwrap it then hang it there. I check them once per several day. When the silica gel change from blue to pick, I just recharge it by plug it into the electric outlet overnight, then next morning, wow, a renewed dehumidifer is ready to use again. The changing of color is very obviously. I strongly recommend this item. |

| Dehumidifer works as advertised, easy to recharge by plugging in to an electrical socket, only drawback is the electrical socket can not be on the wall as the unit will not stay plugged in, unit is too heavy and falls out, a horizontal outlet must be used. Keeps everything in my gun safe dry, only have to recharge every two months as here in California the humidity is usually pretty low. |

This Dehumidifer is The handy`s thing I`ve ever see ..... I use it in a LARGE Gun Safe to keep my weapons dry . It works Very Well . It has a set of Blue BB`s incased in the front of it that tells you the unit is ready for use . It will last for about 2 weeks or so , then the BB`s in it will turn Pink and you can see a little mosture in the glass housing the BB`s , Which means the unit needs to be recharge , or dryed out . All you do is ..... Plug the unit into a wall outlet for about 4 to 6 hours with the flop down and out plug on the back of the unit ..... When you see the BB`s Turn Blue again , un-plug the unit .... Flop the plug shut or Close on the back of the unit , And it`s ready to put back in My Safe for about Two week`s . Does a VERY Good Job and O-Mosture in my Gun Safe ! ... this unit is Worth More than 5 *****`s .... It`s Worth 10*`s ... Wouldn`t Take Nothing For It .

Living in the tropics humidity is a HUGE problem. My clothes get moldy, leather actually rots. I have used the crystal system you can buy and refill and have not been happy. The collected water is very toxic and I have little kids, the containers can spill, and the replacement crystals are expensive and sometimes hard to find.
I'm thrilled with this little device which is reusable indefinitely and does the trick! Just be carefully when drying out the unit, connect it to a power strip where kids and animals can't get to it because it gets really hot! |

This is simply the best item I have ever bought on Amazon. I have now used them for TWO years and heartily recommend them.
I live in a very moist area & mildew, etc, is a HUGE problem here. After 2 years of religious recharging when pink, Mr. Stinky has finally departed from my problem cabinets (previously, I had drilled holes in the backs to improve airflow and even wiped the inside of those WOOD cabinets with undiluted bleach in an attempt to kill the smell).
NOTE: I use more than one EVA DRY 500 per chest or cabinent.
I now buy & use them BEFORE a smell problem arises.
I also use them hanging w/in muslin garment bags (shearling & leather coats).
Perhaps those who have had a negative experience w/ EVA-DRY didn't give the product enough time; do not expect complete dryness & a fresh smell immediately after placement.
I recharge it on a power slip placed on my kitchen counter (ceramic tile) because of other reviewers comments about the difficulty of wall outlet recharging due to Eva-dry's weight & because it *does* heat up when being renewed.
My only complaint is that it has next to zero instructions (e.g. the hanger on the 500 goes through the holes in the plug).
If you are on the fence as whether to order the EVA-DRY 500 or the smaller 333, do yourself a favor and order the 500. It's fairly large but it has a more stable base (if you aren't hanging it) & requires less frequent recharging.

| I purchased three of these little dehumidifiers to try to control the dampness in my basement. They are amazing little powerhouses, and I highly recommend them. I simply place a unit in an inconspicuous place in the corner of the room and leave it alone. When the crystals turn light pink (which is very obvious and usually takes about 3 weeks), I plug it into the outlet overnight to recharge. The unit is a tiny bit larger than I originally envisioned, but that works well because it can absorb more water. I experimented with the outlets in my home until I found one that supports the weight of the unit perfectly during recharging. It gets warm while recharging, but not so hot that it burns (or even feels close to burning). It doesn't have any sort of chemical smell at all, and has been easy to incorporate into my life. The unit seemed too large to hang, so I placed it on the floor (and on the shelf in one room). That hasn't been a problem because I don't even notice they are there. I would highly recommend this product for anyone with dampness issues in their home. Buy one for each closet or room that has dampness and check them after one week to start, then weekly, to easily ascertain how often you'll need to recharge. |

| I had written a review for EDV-300 which I thought was for EDV-500. Anyway, I bought both and both work as expected! I used them both for my bathroom that's about 9 square feet. The mildew is visibly less and takes a longer time to build up. The mini one changed color after about a week of use and the EDV-500 started to change color now that it's about 1 month since I first started using it. One thing that I notice is that for the EDV-300 it changes color faster once you have charged it. It now starts changing color in about 2-3 days as opposed to 1 week. I need to see if that's the same case for EDV-500. But overall, I am very happy with my purchase. |

Now I bought large plastic container with lid where I put humidity measuring device, violin and Eva-dry. In about fifteen minuted humidity inside gets to 45-50 percentage, I remove dehumidifier and leave my violin be until next mornining when I check humidity again and if needed put Eva to its work once more. |

I bought 2 of these the smaller one for a small safe and the bigger one for a large stand up safe. Works Great noticable difference when opening the door now. Takes about 3 weeks to turn pink and recharge. This is great for a sealed space to keep mold out.
The reviews above you can't expect this to dehumidify a non sealed bathroom, not sure what people where thinking. It holds only a small amount of water and humidity will come into the bathroom as fast as it is absurbed this is not a realistic application for this get a dehumidifer or fan.
For a safe or any other type of sealed area it works great and the renewable thing is awesome. |
good buy for kegerator

| I purchased this item to use in a freezer i converted to store kegged beer. Moisture is an issue due that even though the freezer is now maintaining only a 40 degree temperature, the inside wall still freezes in spots when the compressor turns on. Condensate would freeze and then melt, dripping into the bottom of the freezer. Moisture promotes mold and mildew which is not good when you're dealing with beer. When i placed the Eva-dry dehumidifier inside the freezer, this problem stopped occurring altogether. It's been a month and a half and i still haven't had to "renew" the humidifier. I'm not sure how well this item would play out in a bigger area, but in enclosed spaces it works like a charm! |

| After spending a small fortune on messy crystal systems, I stumbled upon this small cordless unit to help maintain our garments. I found the product works very well in small spaces, but you may require more than 1 for closets. I also found these units stop the bathroom mirror from fogging up. My units need to be dried out more often than stated, but that is not a problem. The final cost on these units is so minimal, very conveinent and practical. |

They did work, but I needed more than one in my small room ( size of a small bathroom) but they didn't take away the damp smell. When I got the eva dry I imagined it would just do the same. I have now had it set up for about a month and I have no odor at all and the beads are still blue! I haven't even had to recharge it yet. You don't think its gonna work,, but it really does! I hang many items in my small laundry room and I am so happy that nasty damp smell is gone! |

I purchased two of these units: one for my keezer (kegerator made from a chest freezer) and one for my chest freezer fermentation cabinet.
The keezer has SIGNIFICANTLY less condensation/puddling inside. When I change kegs ever couple of weeks I just wipe down the inside walls with a kitchen towel and soak up any (if any) water on the floor of the unit.
The fermentation cabinet was getting mold in it each time I would use it. I wiped down the inside with Clorox and put one of the Eva-Dry 500 units inside of it. I haven't had a mold problem since!

| I have a medium sized chest freezer that I converted to a chest fridge (thus making it a keg fridge) but a side effect of the conversion was a serious moisture problem. There always seemed to be a lot of wetness on the walls of the freezer and about 1/8" of water in the bottom corner. After installing this mini-dehumidifier I noticed a marked improvement in a day or so and after a week the moisture was completely gone! Its been a couple months now and this thing keeps everything dry as a bone. I can't attest to its effectiveness in larger areas, but in an enclosed box (like an appliance) it works wonders. Highly recommended!!! |

I got this for a smallish 8-gun storage cabinet (really a kind of metal locker) I live in the woods here in Va. and we have a persistent dampness problem. This dehumidifier has been in service for a month and the indicator does not even show a hint of pink yet. Granted, it's been wintertime and the heat has been on, but there is a bathroom with daily showering only twenty feet away and our kitchen is directly downstairs from this room so there is moisture in the air for sure. I was expecting to have to be recharging this thing every couple of weeks, based on other reviews.
Unexpected: This thing is pretty big. I was expecting a smoke-detector-size hockey puck sort of thing, but the E-500 is a big heavy chunk (loads 'o pellets in there) Maybe I didn't need one this big for my application but for $25 it is a good insurance policy. |

We have had this dehumidifer for about 2 months, and only had to plug it in to dry out the crystals once. We took the hint that it gets very hot and put it on the laundry table with a power strip, It didn't get as hot as expected. The best thing is ... our cabin doesn't smell musty any longer. We are very happy with this. Our recommendation is if you have a small, dusty, damp area...Buy this product |

Essentially we live in a forest, a beautiful but very humid environment, and we have many rooms in our residences with mold and mildew problems that have caused health issues for some of our members. We've purchased five units so far, and have been thoroughly satisfied with each one. They have very effectively dried out the rooms and have kept them that way. They make so much sense, in comparison with dehumidifiers which you continually have to empty or vent to the outside, They make no noise, and they have no moving parts, so they wont be wearing out in a years time. They are a great idea, and we will be buying more of them. |

Since using them I have had no issues in the warmer cabinet, and have had a bit less standing water in the kegerator. Both units became saturated in a few weeks, but all I had to do was plug them into an outlet for a day and they were ready to go again. Cool product. I'll be buying more for my closets because they have worked well in these really humid places already. Bargain. |

It works

| Reviewer: S. Clay, |
It works. I don't imagine it works or feel that it works, I know it does. The once (smaller than a closet) humid space I put mine in was all the proof I needed. The rest of this is detail... : )
I use mine in a small area of ~12-15 cubic feet. Smaller than a closet. So I can't tell you how it would work in a larger area. The area I use this in is normally very humid though (about as humid as it gets) and it controls that perfectly although the long recharge time is of course an annoyance sometimes so be aware of that. It's not annoying enough for me to buy two of these yet but if they were free, I'd sure take a second one to use while the first is recharging at my leisure : )
It's true that it can be annoying to plug in and dry out the crystals inside the until because the unit is heavy for its size and has no cord. However, I would rather have this inconvenience than the inconvenience of dragging around a cord that wouldn't get used so often anyway. (Maybe once a week or two for me). If you really want a cord, plug it into an extension cord, power strip, or use some other imaginative solution : )
Just be aware that the unit has a somewhat long 'recharge' time in which to dry out the crystals for using again.
If you pop on your reading glasses and put the recharge indicator under a light and you're not color blind, you should do fine checking when it needs recharging, it's fairly obvious. Even a color blind person would probably see the blue as darker than the pink because the blue is quite a bit darker and they don't all change color at the same time, so, you can see a contrast as it starts to "get full" with the humidity it's been collecting.
Glad I bought mine! It eliminated my humidity problem without taking up a lot of space or electricity, makes no noise, and I don't get the feeling I'll need to go buy a new one in another month to replace it unlike a lot of other junk on the market..

I bought this for my Keezer because excessive moisture was causing mold. This thing works amazingly good at dehumidifying a 7.0 cu foot SEALED container. No longer are the walls of the freezer 'weeping', they are bone dry to the touch.
Since this is a PASSIVE dehumidifier I do not recommend it for anything but small and relatively sealed areas like a closet of fabric chest. If you want to dehumidify a small room or large closet look at getting a active model. |

Somehow I came across this product, and it's perfect for what I need. The underneath of my bed is fairly sealed, and I store my camera equipment there. I was starting to get worried about humidity during the winter as I rarely take it out. Now I can leave everything intact, the dehumidifier at the door, and just check and recharge it once in a while. I prefer this product over refilling messy damp aid units anyday (yuck!).
It seems to keep the closet fairly dry. Two problems. Problem 1. When I renew one of the units, it falls out of the outlet unless I support it with something else. This could be dangerous since it heats up. I'm able to renew it on a counter outlet but could be a more problematic for a regular outlet that has more space between outlet and floor. Problem 2. My boyfriend who I forgot to tell about the unit, went into my closet like a bull in a china shop and it fell off its hook and broke (glass beads everywhere) - I had to buy a new one after only a month. There should be a more secure way to affix the unit to hang in the closet or perhaps customer should opt to put it on the floor. The hook is fairly flimsy and if you have kids or clutzy significant others, hanging just isn't a good option for a closet that is full and tight. |
EDV-500 big improvement over EDV-300 especially hanger

| Reviewer: M. R. Smith, Central NC |
I have 5 of these Eva-Dry rechargable dessicating dehumidifiers. Here in humid NC, using the larger in 4x8 closet works well. Takes some time, but definite measurable difference of 10-15% or so on humidity gauge after a couple of days. Need to recharge once a week here where even with the air conditioning on, indoor rel humidity is over 50% most days.
The larger EDV-500 has a much better hook which fits through the holes in the Eva-Dry EDV-500 plug, a feature that is not very well documented!
Also, there are occasional specials: recently a 2 for 1 sale on the EDV-500 with free shipping.
Only reason for not giving this product a 5 star is that as stated in other posts, the recharge process gets the unit very hot and it doesn't always sit well in an outlet without support. I too had one unit fall, and was fortunate the case stayed intact but the little beads could make for a real mess if the unit broke open!
But the real mess this thing avoids is dealing with drying chemicals that collect water and the dissolved dessicant. When that tips over, it is a wet mess, so the EDV-500 and EDV-300 avoid that type of mess.
PS - where in the world did someone get the idea to label this "wireless" in the Amazon description? Very misleading! |

I got the 500 for my 1.6 cubic ft. AMSEC safe for my handguns and important documents and use a wireless temperature/humidifier sensor to measure the moisture. It works well and keeps moisture at bay.
Con: After a month and 2 renews, the unit stopped renewing. The unit would not heat up to release the moisture from the unit. Did a little troubleshooting and found that the collapsible power plug wouldn't make contact when plugged into the wall. This is the contact between the plug and the unit itself and not the wall. The weight of the unit when plugged into the wall would tend to pull itself away and cause it not to make contact with the unit. I verified this with a Fluke multimeter while pulling on the plug it would lose connection. The only work around is to charge it upright on a power strip where the weight would help give it a better connect.
The unit gets very HOT! I assume this is normal considering it needs alot of heat to release the moisture from the unit. I'm just afraid it might catch on fire one day during a renew. To be on the safe side, I renew in the middle of my tile floor. |
Worked better than expected in my keg fridge!

I purchased this about a month ago for a beer keg refrigerator that kept collecting standing water on the bottom. I would use towels to soak up the half inch of water from the bottom of the fridge, but when I would open the fridge to check it again a week later, the water would always be back. Since I put this de-humidifier into the fridge a month ago, the fridge is still completely dry, and the beads have yet to change color at all, so I haven't yet had to "recharge" the dehumidifier. It's done just what I needed it to do. I'm very pleased with this purchase.
---UPDATE---
To my surprise, it was over 7 months before any moisture appeared in the bottom of the fridge again. I plugged in the Eva-Dry for about a day and a half (until I could see pink beads again), and put it right back in the fridge, which has been dry ever since (1 month and counting). |
It's working...

| Purchased 5 of these for small space (less than 30 cu. ft.) dehumidifiers. Having purchased multiple units, I can understand more of the comments read previously. Some of the units were still "dry" and had the dark blue tint that shows a dry condition of the media, while others varied with some showing more of a pink cast. Just simply "recharge" unit for 10-12 hours, it'll be dark blue, and put it to work. Units have mostly turned from blue to pink in 2-3 weeks with local humidity @ 50% or so. Use power strip on floor to recharge, and it'll work fine. Not sure this would be the right product if you needed something for several hundred cubic feet or more, but it seems to work great on small areas. |

| I bought two of these for my sailboat for overwinter storage. They worked great. Could really feel the difference in water absorbed especially after I plugged them in to dry out. So I bought two more so that I could rotate. When I put my boat cover over the cabin, the condensation was much reduced and the dehumidifiers fill up much more slowly. I have all four in now and should be able to make it through the rest of the winter with only two total dry-out cycles. These would be really great for smaller enclosures. |

| I purchased the Eva-Dry EDV 500 as a last resort to try to get rid of a damp odor problem we had coming from underneath our whirlpool tub in our master bathroom. The tub sits on a cement slab on an outside wall of our home, with 2 interior walls on the side. The front of the tub is faced with wood cabinetry to allow us to get in under the tub in the event of a plumbing problem. The area is relatively small- about 6 feet across, 4 feet deep and about 2 feet high minus the space the actual tub takes up- I approximated it is less than 50 square feet of area. We started noticing a damp odor coming form under this area, probably because the wood cabinetry itself is porous and we live in humid south Florida. I got the Eva Dry EDV 500 to put inside this enclosed tub area, just right inside the wood cabinet door. I think it works! A long as I "renew" the Eva Dry about once a week, the odor seems to have gone away! As others have complained, it is very difficult to see the color change from blue to pink, but I have been re-charging it once a week regardless of what color I think I see. I am so aware of the problem that i am always in there sniffing to be sure it okay in there, so I always stay on top of re-charging the unit. I also do have to prop the unit up to recharge it as it seems to fall out of the electrrical outlet as some have commented on. I re-charge it in a side ways mounted outlet I have in my kitchen and prop it up with an address book that prevents it from tilting down. The unit does get very hot when recharging. I just leave it in over night and put it back in, in the morning. So far, so good. The odor seems to be gone and I am thrilled. Very pleased. I think you really need to be sure you are not putting it into an area that is too big for the size of the unit. The unit states, I think, that it works in ares of less than 150 sq feet. That is not very big when you figure the length X width X height dimensions of an area. Even a small closet is pretty close to that. For me, in this small under tub area it works! |

| When I purchased the Eva-Dry Dehumidifier, the product arrived fast. I was skeptical whether this would work. I live in Florida, we haven't had much humidity in our closets until recently. I see the color is beginning to turn pink for the first time. So, I assume it is doing it's job. It's small but seems to be collecting the moisture. I would probably put a five star if I had more experience with it but it's still new to me. If it works as good as I think it is, I will order another one. |

I would give it five stars if it stayed in the receptacle when recharging. This is not necessarily a fault of the unit, but its design. Some receptacles are looser than others. I support it from beneath and it stays plugged in for charging.

| We have a house in the mountains -mostly used on weekends. Mildew has been a problem in the closets in the past. This product seems to do the job and the clothes are dry. I am now considering purchasing a few more for under the sink cabinets in the bathroom. The smaller the space , the better. AND you have to keep the closets closed now- something my kids tend to forget. Wish I had gotten these before. I had always used those crystal bags, which smell and are expensive if you use them alot. These work much better and last about a month before re charging. |

Good thing is, it works as described, but either my physics/math are wrong, or there is hidden magic.
I had the unit out for 8 weeks, the stuff got extremely purple... so its soaked and full. Put it on a scale, about 950 grams, 24hrs later, 820 grams, that's 130 ml = 4.39582295 US fluid ounces. I'm pretty sure even if I would let it sit for a couple more weeks to soak, or dry even longer it would ever reach 8-10, dont even see the room where it could go.
So basically its a dishonest description for one part, but the idea works. |

| I purchased 2 of these to put in a large safe. They need to be recharged more frequently than I would like for being in a climate controlled safe. They are heavy and will not hang from the wall outlet to recharge, so I have to use an extension and lay them on their side to "Recharge" them. Some of the crystals that can be seen through the window appear to be burnt, and so it is difficult to tell if it is working as advertised. I prefer "Damp-Rid" for dehumidifying because you can actually see when it needs to be replaced, as well as gauge how much humidity is in the area. Otherwise it is a great idea, but would have liked better execution. |

| I purchased this for a small bathroom that has a severe humidity problem. I chose this one because the bathroom does not have an electrical outlet (or room) to support a larger device. I expected that I would need to refresh the device every other day based on the amount of humidity in the bathroom. When I installed the device nothing happened for almost two weeks. I was convinced it did not work and was very disappointed. I left it in the bathroom anyway and the beads may have changed to a slightly less vibrant blue, maybe. I read someone's review that said they didn't know their device was working until they refreshed it so I tried refreshing it. I reinstalled in the bathroom and it seems to be working better. The beads turned completely pink within about a week and a half after refreshing it. I refreshed it again and the beads are steadily changing colors again. It isn't making a drastic difference in the humidity of the bathroom as far as I can tell but the beads are changing colors now so I guess it is doing something. I wouldn't recommend this device to solve any major humidity problems but it may be useful for smaller jobs. |

Filled with standard chemical dehydrating material (color changing silca) this product helps, but does not eliminate the moisture that builds up in my chest freezer (13 cubic feet) that I use for serving homebrew. I use an external temp. controller to hold the temp at 32F for lagering (now sweating) or 50F for serving ales (lots of sweating).
So I still have to wipe the moisture up with a cloth, but not as frequently. |
Energy Efficient, Just Not Efficient

| Reviewer: S. Turner, Chicago, IL |
I was excited to see an energy efficient dehumidifier that I could throw in my closet to protect some of my clothes and papers. The Eva-dry has the unique ability of being wireless and environmentally friendly. Unfortunately, for what you give up in energy efficiency, you're giving up in overall performance.
It's tough to judge its performance since you never actually see the water. You can't open a container and poor out what's been collected. Instead you must trust some colored balls to guide you along the way. The balls did change and needed to be re-energized, but it took a long time. In a basement closet, I was expecting to have to recharge it every week, but was surprised to see it take almost 3 months in a damp closet.
Perhaps this is a good item for something small like a safe, but anything larger and it seems somewhat worthless. It doesn't seem to eliminate much moisture and is just not worth the price tag. |

Sure the crystals change colors, But hell I use to have a shirt that would change colors- remember those (I know sad). Like I was saying my condensation problem is probably so bad this little thing has no effect. I don't remember the area it is suppose to cover, But I would think it might be good for a food pantry, as long as you didn't have any liquids or can goods in there then it would probably work. or maybe is you bought six or seven of them they might show some sort of result. This thing is huge. I suppose there are dimensions of it somewhere on Amazon's page, but I was surprised when I received it how large it is. Decided not to hang it.
I can't really tell how well it works. I bought it because my studio apartment stays rather humid, but it's too small to warrant purchasing a larger, more expensive dehumidifier. I have owned it for about a month, and it has not yet turned to pink crystals (ready to be recharged). It is placed by my heating unit, which appears to be the source of the problem, and I have seen less condensation (and resulting mold...eww), however, I also stopped using the heater so much... Combined effect, perhaps?
Moral of the story-- it's probably suited better to a smaller space, like a closet. |

I found this unit to be not substantially better than the 300 (basically the same unit, only larger). I have had this in a bathroom (quite small) and have recharged it twice in the first week. this is something of a challenge, as the plug is attached to the unit in such a way that it effectively hangs on the wall, but is really too heavy for an outlet where it doesn't rest on the floor.
Despite it filling and being recharged twice it has not made any noticeable difference in a very small room.
Although it is twice the price I'd recommend the petite electric over this unit- which for us has made no difference at all )in brief, no matter how inexpensive, a waste of money). |

This "dehumidifier" doesn't! That's the short version: How some of these raters suggested that this would dehumidify a room is beyond me.
I placed this "dehumidifier" in a 25 cubic foot gun safe w/ a humidity gauge. The safe is a quality safe and has great seals, etc. The humidity in the garage where the safe was located indicated 48%.The gauge indicated 61% humidity when I placed it inside the safe. I was out of town for a little over two weeks and the humidity gauge indicated 61% upon return.
This tells me two things:
1. No outside air gets into the safe
2. This thing can't dehumidify anything.
I then put it in my boy's bathroom (3 boys) where the humidity measured 80%--wet towels hanging, wet shower mats, etc. Yes, I know it is too small for a room but I wanted to see if it would change color to indicate it was absorbing anything.
Two weeks and the color was still blue. I called the company in Florida and a man said to send it back and that I might have gotten "bad crystals". Yes, I really intend to spend $7 to send this junk back and maybe receive another piece of junk.
Amazon should be ashamed!
I would have rated it zero stars but this system would not do it.
UPDATE- Amazon, to it's credit, did let me return this thing and they returned my money. |

I've had this product now for about 2 weeks and it does nothing to the humidity level for the closet that I bought it for. The beads do not change color and the humidity sensor I have also remains at an elevated level.
Thinking that I needed to do something to "activate" the unit, I MISTAKELY called the customer service at the manufacturer Eva Dry. What I got was someone that was rude and completely un-helpful. He was trying to convince me that the unit was working ("no way is this unit defective) even though I explained that the humidity level is the same since the unit has been in the closet for 2 weeks now. Then he went on to grill me on the size of the closet even though I explained to him several times that I do not have the dimensions but it was a walk in closet in the basement. Then he tried to tell me that either the closet was too big and that I need more units because the one cannot handle the size. I tried to tell him that the unit was not absorbing any moisture because the beads are still blue so it cannot be that one unit cannot handle the humidity level. Then he tried to go another route that I should put this unit in a place with very high humidity to see it turn color.
The whole conversation (which took 10 to 15 minutes) was a complete waste of time. Also, when I asked them what the 30-day money back guarantee was on this product, he dodged that question as well and said they carry a 5 year warranty on the product but of course, there was NO way this product was defective. It was either my closet was too big (so I should buy more of his product that DOES NOT WORK) or the humidity level was not high enough.
Save your money even if it's only $20 or so. It's a shame because based on the description, it sounded like a wonderful product if it actually worked. On top of that I had to waste time talking to the so called customer service.

I have a humidity sensor in my closet. Prior to owing this, my humidity level was 60-62%. My current level of humidity, using this product, is 60-62%. I do keep the door to my closet closed. The indicator shows blue. I don't know what I could be doing that would make the unit not work.
Basically (I guess) the dry/wet indicator has some colored balls in it and (I guess) the color of the balls changes from blue (dry and ready to use) to pinkish orange (wet and needs recharging). Also, the unit comes with a hook that (I guess) attaches to the holes in the plug (since I am unable to find any other holes for the hook to attach to). Finally, the reason I append my comments with "I Guess" is because of the instructions, which are not clear. Although not the worst instructions I have ever seen, they are quite minimal. |

| I purchased two of these units and have yet to see any change in relative humidity in the several locations I have tried them out. The units do slowly collect some water, evident when they are recharged and show a bit of condensation in the viewing window, but the reality is they are not removing anywhere near a substantial amount of moisture. I have used a hygrometer, and even in a tiny enclosed space did not see the relative humidity budge from its 60% level of the surrounding air. |

We bought two of these items in early August. To date, they do not appear to have absorbed ANY water. Thinking that they might be dry because it has been less humid, we hung a disposable unit in the same closet -- which filled up in less than six weeks. The Eva-Dri 500 units we bought are doing nothing, a great disappointment.
Followup: My Bad. The pellets were described in a way that led me to believe they were not absorbing (color change not pink). But upon plugging the units in, the pellets turned Blue, as they are supposed to when drying out. They now require regenderating about three times each month. The units work; they don't hold much. I would not buy again. |

I purchased four of these units. After seeing pink balls on two of the units I plugged them securely into wall circuits and went to work. When I arrived home I found that both of the units had fallen out of the wall and broke. It took 20 minutes to clean up all the little balls and who knows what those little balls are and if they're harmful when rolling around loose - I know I couldn't possible have gotten all of them. You have to buy a strip circuit and have it sit on the floor when you plug the unit in. Eva-Dry needs to tell the user this!
I phoned Eva-Dry and left a detailed message for the Manager as to what happened and to please call me and he never returned my call. This is a company with no customer service, how sad. |

I left it in the bathroom for a couple of weeks and the beads always stayed dark blue. The beads never turned pink to indicate that it was absorbing moisture. I sprinkled water on it to see if it would do anything......stayed dark blue with not one single pink bead showing. I laid a damp towel on top of it, completely covering this unit with the damp towel. IT NEVER CHANGED or gave any indication that it had absorbed any moisture! It's in my trash can now. | I dont think this will ever work, this is the second one i got and it doesnt work, i put in my closet that has the EDV 1100 that i also purchased and it still doesnt collect moisture while the EDV 1100 is collecting a lot. I dont recommend this product at all as a matter of fact I am returning it for another EDV 1100 NOW THATS A GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT THE EDV 500. |

| Purchased this for a closet and haven't seen a change at all. Damp Ride works better and cost much less. Keep your money!!!!! |

Quite, and you cannot tell if it is working or not. So I return this product. They should design this product such that users can easily figure the product is in working condition.

| I bought 300 and 500 units. They are not working in my small condo. I cannot find the place to see how they finally work. |
