| I have been waxing myself since the last 12 years and always wanted to buy a wax warmer. Bought this product as it was on sale along with waxing strips, 14 oz wax can and a [useless] DVD. I have considerable experience in self waxing and one thing I can tell for sure is that all those other supplemental products (other than the wax itself) are just waste of money. Baby powder or any generic powder will work just as well to rid your skin of any pre-moisture. Best is to start waxing on a relaxed Sunday morning before your shower, making sure you are not too sweaty and maybe wipe your armpits etc with a dry towel before starting. Same for post-wax products. As somebody else mentioned, baby oil works very well to remove residual wax. Liberally rub baby oil all over waxed body and get into the shower. One tip for those who have been getting wax all over the place- dedicate an old bedsheet to the waxing process and spread it wide over the bathroom floor before you begin. Also, I didnt like the thin muslin strips so much as they shed a lot of thread which sticks to your fingers and is messy. I have also used strips made from old jeans legs before and these are perfect ! Cut them in 2.5" X 8" length and you're all set. For face you can use a thinner cloth. The #225 is fantastic, it keeps the wax at the perfect temperature after 30 minutes. When I used to wax using microwaveable wax, I had to run again and again to heat the wax and it took me 3 times the time to finish my waxing. With this wax warmer I am done with EVERYTHING in 1 hr max (including cleaning up). For those who are used to shaving, I would say try waxing once- you dont have to spend 15 minutes twice a week shaving yourself (which amounts to more time than waxing actually), plus waxing is soooo much smoother (NO stubble), and healthier for the skin too. AND the hair do not return all coarse and spiney. This warmer should give a good start. DO NOT pour wax directly into the metal container of the warmer. Just place the wax tin into it with the collar on the tin and remove the plastic cover of the wax tin. Wipe off the warmer surface with a cotton ball dipped in baby oil in the end to get rid of any sticky wax. |

I bought this item, being tired of always having to go to the beauty shop on some sort of a schedule to have my waxing done.
I love this product. No mess, no fuss, just plug it in, and wax away! Of course, you have to know how to do it, or you could end up hairless!!
I also ordered the cream wax, which is much gentler on your skin.
I would highly recommend this product for personal use.
This was recommended to me by my Salon, as they use the same product!!

| So after a few years of spending $25+tip for my basic bikini waxes, I decided to get this GiGi Wax Warmer and a 14 oz pot of Lavender Cream Wax. Boy am I glad I did! I cut up a pair of old jeans into strips instead of paying for the muslin and got an old metal cheese spreader that I can clean and reuse, both as suggested here. It is much less painful than at the salon! I just pre cleaned the area with alcohol and then used alcohol to clean up any leftover wax, too. I used Corn Starch as the powder. I do already have the GiGi No Bump and use that, too. The directions for the warmer are pretty self explanatory and it did heat up the whole pot in 30 minutes on high, then I was able to lower it to low for use. The directions on the pot of wax are stupid proof, too, especially for anyone who has had it done in a salon before. Works like a charm, no pain and a heck of a lot less expensive than waxing at a salon! |

| Works like a charm. Follow instructions: Make sure not to pour the wax directly into the warmer! Gigi sells a wax in a canister for this warmer. I personally use Zip wax, and I heat it up in a small ceramic bowl (a ramekin) in the warmer. |

| When I think of the money I saved by buying the Gigi warmer and honee wax, I get a big smile. In the first use it paid for itself and it's so easy. I bought the sticks at a craft store and cut up an old pillow case for the muslin strips. I did my brows, top and bottom, lip, cheeks and chin the first time, like a pro. There is nothing I don't like about it. You plug it in, wait for the wax to warm up and you're good to go! I love it. |

| I bought this at Sally's after reading the reviews. I have to say, wax is sticky. Point blank. But....if you do it right, there's no mess, no pain, no fuss. (My first attempt wax was everywhere.) I recommend putting down paper or something you can just toss out afterwards. But after getting the hang of it. The whole set, warmer, two wax jars, the collars, and a pack of 100 muslin strips (which those work great!) I paid around $60 and got a month worth. But!!! I still have a wax jar and 80 percent of the muslin strips so I'm good for another one. And when I have to buy the wax and strips I'm looking at maybe $15. I would recommend this product. Works great. BABY OIL! Removes wax great! |
Useful.

| I have been seeing this wax warmer in my Beauty parlor. I bought this item thinking I don't have to go to parlor/spa every week to wax my upper lip. First I thought it takes long time to melt. But, if you want to wax your upper lip, it only takes 5 minutes to melt on higher setting. Because you only need little bit and you can take it from sides or from the bottom of the wax bottle. Even you select higher setting, you will feel only warm. Once you see the wax melted according to your need, you can set it into warm. I bought the 14OZ wax and I used it for waxing my hands and legs twice. It still has few wax remained at the bottom. I am using this remained wax for upper lips because it melts fast with in few minutes. I cutted my old jeans into strips to wax. Finally my feeling is it is very economically useful to wax for upperlip. I felt tired when I wax my legs and hands. It took more than one hour for me. I am thinking to go to parlor for waxing hands and legs next time. One more advice, when you wax upper lip, don't do more than one time. Upper lip skin is very sencitive and you might end up with scratches. If this is the first time you are waxing, please done it professionally so that you will get an idea how they are doing it. Don't forget to buy gloves. It is very sticky job. Hope this review is helpful. |

| This is an awesome wax warmer. It heats up rather quickly and I like how you can control the temperature. It has a cover that you can place over the wax when you're done so dust and bacteria don't get in it. It's just great. I have used this wax warmer to warm all kinds of wax. It warms honey waxes and cream waxes. Just superb :) |

I love this product...I recently moved and the box I stored my old wax warmer in tipped over and sat like that for a few days, which caused a huge mess as I had wax stored in the warmer. Urgh! After trying to clean it up unsuccessfully I had to toss it and bought a new one. Which came very fast in the mail.
This is the same model that I had before however the price here was much cheaper than what I got my 1st one for in a beauty supply shop.
This is very easy to use, it doesn't take very long to heat up for small jobs like the eye-brows, upper lip or under arm. If I'm doing larger areas like my legs then it might take a half hour to fully warm the wax.
I use mine all the time - I don't own a razor so I use this from head to toe and even on my husbands arm to keep his pin-up tattoo looking clean and hair free.
I had my first warmer for 4 years and know that I'll have this one just as long - longer infact :)
If you are a waxer and don't mind doing the job yourself - this is a must have! |

| I use to have Satin Smooth wax warmer and actually had bought the intro kit with wax and creams. I used it for many years, it worked fine but took a few hours before getting the wax hot and never really got the wax that hot. It died on me a few weeks ago and decided to go for a different model. With Gigi's wax warmer I don't need hours of wait before waxing. 30 mins will do. + the wax get pretty hot therefore the wax gets much thinner, therefore I end up using a lot less for the same amount of waxing. I realize now that I had been missing out all these years and wasting money on wax! I could have used half the wax I used with Gigi's wax warmer. I am very please so far. The only thing is it is a little bit wider than my old model and need to find a new space to store it in my small bathroom. |

I just bought the economy warmer last night and couldn't wait to try it out! I've been getting professionally waxed for the past few years but it was just too much of a hassle to work around someone else's schedule. But anyways, I'm pretty accustomed to the whole process and figured I could do it myself and with this warmer, I COULD! It was simple to use, just follow the directions. Just place the wax can into the warmer, remove its plastic lid, and turn it on high. It takes a good 30 minutes to heat up to the right consistency. But some tips I picked up were to use a metal butter knife instead of the wooden/plastic spatulas you can buy at the store - it works like a dream and is reusable. Also instead of buying the expensive cloths to remove the wax, I just cut up strips of an old pair of jeans....you can cut atleast 50-60 strips this way. Unfortunately, they're not reusable (they may be but it seems like too much of a hassle to try to wash this wax off). Also I used some baby oil to remove the wax once I was done instead of buying the wax off. It worked very well and I was able to clean up all the mess I made afterwards (my bathroom counter and my rug). My last word of advice would be to use gloves - b/c once the wax gets on your fingers (which it most likely will) it makes it very difficult to continue waxing, but with the gloves it was much more bearable.
All in all, it took me about an hour once the wax was warmed up to do both legs and both arms - not bad! |

You do need to follow the instructions before turning this on... including putting on the cardboard collar BEFORE inserting the wax. That wax is pernicious... it gets on everything... so be warned.
I've gotten my eyebrows waxed at a strip mall salon before a few times. The last session was with someone I've never had do it before - and the results showed she likely hadn't been doing it that long. At $10 a pop plus tip, I finally realized I should be doing this myself - no more shelling out the money and having a language barrier on how I want it done, etc.
It does take a while for the wax to sufficiently warm up - about 30 minutes. The instructions are lackluster - so they lose a star just for that. I would say 99% of the instructions are legal jargon to keep them from being sued... like don't use this on your privates, etc. Pulllease! No insider tips - they assume you've graduated from beauty school and don't bother to tell you much at all. Thanks to wikipedia, I learned a lot about waxing and felt better about using this gizmo.
I have successfully waxed my armpits - this took 3 separate sessions. I would have never had that done in a salon. I'm one of those unfortunate women that have bumpy armpit skin... so the hairs go in every direction and shaving means I get cut every single time I shave.
One day, when I can afford it, I will get laser hair removal, but in the mean time, it is pretty easy to do waxing at home for the armpits, eyebrows and sideburns. I've struggled with the legs.. so much surface area... and you're only supposed to apply the wax once to the skin per session, so I like my skin to have a few days off before attempting again, otherwise the skin peels.
Other kits I looked at didn't look as easy to operate, which is why I chose this warmer. While it's a bit of a scam that all their wax cans fit only in this warmer, no other brand seems to have a structured fit. So far, I am pleased with the results- the wax really grabs the hair and when yanking a bunch at the same time, there is hardly any discomfort... and nothing like the pain and monotony of plucking each hair with tweezers! |

I just bought a mish mash of waxing things for a mini-start up kit. Along with the warmer I bought the Gigi hard Brazilian Wax. Per the instructions on the wax I set the warmer on high for about 30 min then put on low. It took longer than I expected to warm up, but it was a very comfortable temperature. I noticed that the wax on the top of the jar and toward the front started to cool so I had to mix it every 10 minutes or so. That's my only complaint.
The low-med setting was the perfect temperature for me! |

| This warmer is the first I've owned, since I only began waxing at home a couple months ago. I've used it about three times over the course of 3 or 4 months, and it has been great. It warms up pretty quickly, in about twenty or thirty minutes and it gets very hot if you want it to so that I have to turn it down a bit so the wax is a little more manageable. The warmer is made of plastic and looks and feels pretty cheap, but it does the job just fine for at home waxing. Doesn't appear to be a professional warmer that you would use all the time for clients, but for the occasional at home waxing job it is great! Oh and the top comes off so it is easy to clean. |
Keep on high

| The warmer works pretty well, however I suggest leaving the setting on HIGH if you have the original Honee wax. Because this wax is super thick, it likes to cool quickly. Leaving the warmer on high keeps it at the right consistency. |

The product is very good but the only thing that I don't like, it takes a long time to warm up - 30 to 40 minutes- So if you don't have the time,it could be a problem ....but if not, just leave there and go do something else.

| Reviewer: Claudia I. Franco, |
| I have previously had a leg waxing at a salon, and I really liked the results, however, I didn't return because I had a rash reaction to some product they used. I figured if I had more control over the products, I would have better results. I bought this product with the starter kit, which included 4- 2 ounce bottles of: a) after wax skin concealer, b) pre-hon epilation cleanser, c) slow grow to reduce hair re-growth and d) wax off. I read the instructions, but I was confused as to what to do with the wax. Was I supposed to put water in the heating compartment then put in the wax container into the water, or just put the container in there with no water or should I dump the contents of the wax container into the compartment. Nowhere in the instructions did it tell me how to do it. I tried all three and eventually dumped in the wax. Even if this is not correct, I have used on two occasions and didn't feel it was easy to do. The wax is either too thick or too thin and drips or is hard to spread, and simply impossible to do the backs of your legs by yourself. The wax off doesn't work easily and I had residual wax everywhere. The after wax skin concealer is just like makeup for your legs and I found it useless. The pre hon cleanser says to use it and then apply powder (which doesn't come with the kit). I didn't even try the slow grow because I don't think you can slow hair growth. Maybe it's better to pay the money and get it done by professionally. |

I bought this product 2 years ago, and I literally had to throw it away. When i filled it with wax, it was leaking from the screws and going in the machinery. The wax was all over the floor and the machine. It was not clean at all. I had to clean up every thing and finally threw away the machine for I was scared of electrical short circuit due to wax in the machinery.
It was a total waste of time and money. I recommend you not to try or take this brand, I am infact looking for some better brand but when i saw reviews for Gigi warmer, couldnt stop myself from expressing what happened to me! Hopefully I can find something good! |
