Amazing pain reliever

| I am eternally grateful to a friend who first recommended Salonpas to me for my rheumatoid arthritis. I have applied Salonpas to my shins, knees, elbows, wrists, knuckles, shoulders, neck, back, hip ... wherever I have pain. This product lowers my level of pain so that I can get to sleep at night or work in relative comfort during the day. They are easy to apply and provide long lasting relief. I tell whomever I can about Salonpas. It is now such a popular product that the retailer has difficulty keeping them in stock! My husband ordered them on-line because of the availability of larger quantities to assure me that I would not be without my wonderful Salonpas! |
Salonpas really works wow I don't need Tylonal or Advil or anything now

I happened upon these at Costco just yesterday after just having been told by my Orthopedic Surgeon that my arthroscopic surgery was not so succcessful and that I would have to live with it or decide it was bad enough for a knee replacement. I could barely walk and was in considerable discomfort, my knee badly inflammed and swollen.
I put it on in the parking lot (that's how easy they are to apply) and, I swear, 10 minutes later there was a definite improvement, although my husband claims that the smell of them makes his eyes water. The smell isn't unpleasant, but it is "distinctive."
After 24 hours of use, I can actually walk fairly normally without pain. The knee is still swollen, but I am much more comfortable.
Whoda thought?
My husband says it's all in my head. Hey, if that's true, they still work for me!
I would recommend these to anyone to try. Nobody is more surprised than I am that they actually WORK. |

| This is really a terrific product. I am a senior citizen in a retirement home and I have been talking it up to my fellow tenants who are not paying enough attention. I use the patch for lower back pain and it does wonders. It does not relieve all the pain (too much to hope for) but it makes me feel much much better (immediately!) and returns mobility (I can now bend over to tie shoelaces, for example). I can't recommend this highly enough. |

| I used the patches in the past and received great relief. They tend to work instantly and they work better than any painkiller. When the pain is really bad it's best to use a patch first and then if necessary use a painkiller...but they work. If you've never used the patch before give it time to kick in...trust me it takes less than 20minutes. How do I spell relief - SALONPAS! |

| I suffer from terrible pain in my neck, shoulders and back. I had a failed back surgery, and have tried everything, including having my nerves burned! SalonPas are one of the best products I have used, and I've been going through this for a good ten years. They're inexpensive, which may turn some people away, but take it from someone who suffers greatly... these work better than many of the higher priced patches. |
Better than Biofreeze

| I LOVE this stuff! I get neck pain every now & then & while using Biofreeze gel helps, Salonpas does the job WAY better! My only minor gripes are: 1) the patches don't come in skin tone colors (although it is fun telling people I'm using a nicotine patch & not to judge me just for kicks); & 2) the adhesive works so well it removes all of the hair off my neck when time comes to take off the patch. Sometimes it'll even leave a red spot where I removed the patch. BUT that's nothing compared to the wonderful pain-eliminating results I've gotten from using these patches. |
Good value, easy to use, portable & they work!

When I first bought these, I was disappointed in their size--so tiny compared to other pain-relieving patches I'd been buying for my chronic neck/shoulder muscle spasms.
HOWEVER, I'm pretty sure that for the money, you get tons more actual product--although these patches are quite a bit smaller--only 2.56 X 1.64 inches each, there are way more in a package. So, it's a great value.
Another thing I really like is that unlike large patches, these are pretty easy to apply by yourself without having them get all wadded up/wrinkled or in the wrong spot.
And, you can always slap on more than one to cover however much space you need to cover! (I have three on my neck/shoulders now). They adhere quite strongly, and are like any adhesive applied to the skin--it can smart a bit when you take it off!
The active ingredients in these patches are camphor, menthol and methyl salicylate. If you are allergic to any of these ingredients, or aspirin (salicylate is very similar to aspirin and can cause the same reaction), skip these and try something else--maybe the capsicum products? I have some skin allergies, but am not bothered by these.
One benefit of using patches rather than pain-relieving creams or ointments is that you do not get yucky-smelling product on your hands.
Another is that you can wear these when you have to be around other people and you don't smell like you are slathered in ointments.
Plus, they are quite portable. I have one of the smaller packages in my purse for on-the-go pains. There are six small packages inside the box, each containing 20 patches, so you get 120 of these little patches in the box. Even if you use multiples at a time, they will last quite awhile.
I use these mostly for my neck/shoulder pains, but they also work when I overdo the exercise (or it rains) and my old knee injury acts up. I believe they'd work for almost any spasm, pulled muscle, stiffness or joint problems--anywhere you have pain, but the skin is not broken.
Highly recommended. |
Excellant, really takes the pain away, we use it all the time,,

| These are also great for "that" time of the month for women. I shared this with my grand-daughter and she is now a "regular" customer. All she does is put the patch on the lower part of her back and relief is nearly immediate....voile.......no cramping, no meds to make her sleepy. I wonder if it would help labor pains? |

| I was looking for alternative ways to treat my knee and wrist. I hated taking aspirin or motrin, The aspirin seemed to aggravate my vertigo and the Motrin after taking them many years started affecting my stomach. I found this at Wal-Mart and thought what the heck I'll give it a try. I am a huge fan now...I am so happy I can treat the painful area only!! |

These are a very convenient size for knees and smaller body parts, and they work very well. They are very menthol though, they smell like mint gum but not unpleasantly medicine-y like other products.
Application is nice and neat because they are patches not a cream. The patches are made of a white fabric, and the little diagram on the front is suggested application places so if your back is the problem you'd use 4 in the area your back hurts.
They come packaged two on one strip of plastic, one on the front, one on the back. Nice cooling sensation.
For my back, I prefer the Salonpas capsicum large patches because heat works better for me than cool, but for my knees and other minor sprains, I love these so much. |

Salonpas work great for muscle pain! I use them on my back under my shoulder blades, and also on my shoulders (trapezius muscles). They are very comfortable and relieve pain well for 4-6 hours.
They do not work for situations in which inflammation-related problems are causing the pain. Ibuprofen is better for these things. But if you have muscle pain, try these for temporary relief! :) |

| I found Salanpas when a sample was mailed to our home. It has been a lifesaver. It completely eliminates my neck pain. It's not sticky or gooey like some of the others (Ben-gay, specifically). Highly recommended, though I cannot find it in stores. |

Salonpas works better than Rx drugs for chonic pain

It's like Ben-gay on a patch.
I've suffered from chronic severe pain for more than 3 years. My doctors call it idiopathic diabetic neuropathy.
Salonpas works better than Lidoderm(tm) patches and costs a fraction of what Lidoderm does.
The ingredients are GRAS (generally recognized as safe), and aren't nearly as messy as similar OTC treatments like Ben-gay.

| This pad gave me good temporary topical relief for severe neck pain and headache. It went on easily and adhered very well, much better than the more expensive Bengay patch which worked loose at the edges. There was no strong ointment smell (unlike the strong Menthol of the Bengay patch) and no more than a mild burning sensation which soon eased. This is a very good topical remedy at a good price. |
Why don't these work for me?

| Reviewer: C. G. King, Horse Country, VA USA |
All the positive reviews encouraged me to try these--twice, in case I was missing something--but they don't really help me. This winter I did something to my knee that really slowed me down. It caused me a lot of burning pain and I tried a number of things to get some relief. I put as many as four patches on my knee at once so as to cover a wider area in case I was not targeting the correct area with just one, but if I got any relief, it was minimal. During this time, I fell in the tub and wrenched my other knee. Good Grief! I tried the product on that knee too. It was a different sort of pain so I hoped while the product didn't work noticeably on the one knee, maybe it would work in this other situation, but again, I noticed barely any improvement in the level of pain.
Perhaps it is because I'm somewhat overweight and there is more tissue between the patch and the painful area than may be ideal, but bottom line, they didn't work for me enough to warrant re-buying. Additionally, the odor bothered me even though it is not as strong as other pain relief patch products. I'm sad not to be among those who've had success, but obviously, they don't work for everyone. If you want to try them, I recommend buying a small package to test them out before investing more.

| The patches offered only slight relief when used to treat arthritis of the wrist, and virtually no pain relief when used on larger body parts such as the thigh were the pain is sometimes of a high level. The patches are easy to apply and they adhere effectively when applied to dry skin. I can imagine circumstances where others with minor pain problems may find the product more effective than is suggested by my experience. |
