Easily the most effective (if least pleasant-tasting) form of caffeine I've ever ingested.

Most forms of caffeine made to keep me awake have suffered from one or more of the following problems:

Eventual post-caffeination (and/or sugar) crash
Hyper-activity
Stomach irritation
Jitters
Ineffectiveness

Stay Alert has become my preferred form of caffeine quite simply because it suffers from none of these. It doesn't give me a buzz or make me feel wired. It simply keeps me alert. After taking it, I don't feel sleepy. Instead I feel perfectly awake and nothing more, which is precisely what I want. Also, it works for hours on end, is highly portable, and is cheaper than most other forms of caffeine. The only downsides are it's artificially sweetened and begins to taste bitter rather quickly. It's not meant to be chewing gum, though. It's meant to keep you awake, and it does just that. Further, considering caffeine is bitter by nature, the flavor's a small price I'm willing to pay.
Does what it says

I really like the Stay Alert gum. I tried the Penguin Energy gum, but this is much better. The first time I used it, I had to get used to the somewhat different taste, but I love the warmth of the cinnamon in my mouth. I keep it in my car, at work, and around the house. It is a bit more pricey than some of the other gums, but worth the cost. I plan to keep this gum on hand.
Just the thing to give a student a boost!

Reviewer: Ronald Frank,
I use stay alert gum to stay sharp during classes on days when I am particularly tired. It works well, and does its job quickly(within 5 minutes). It does not ,however, make me jittery. It literally works like a charm. The instructions say you can chew up to 2 pieces every 3 hours. I have never needed more than 1 piece. I have only used it for short bursts of energy when I must be completely present mentally, and never to stay awake for long periods of time. Since I am not a coffee drinker, I find it to be an excellent source of much needed caffeine.
This really works!

I used this during a long highway trip. You know how it gets--you feel very drowsy and you start to nod out at the steering wheel without realizing it. That's when you are a dangerous driver, especially when there are no rest areas in sight and you're tempted to drive longer than you should. That happened to me on that trip, and I popped a single piece of gum in my mouth. After only a few chews, I was wide awake, as if I had pulled over and taken a nap. I could hardly believe it; it was miraculous. I no longer felt the least bit drowsy. That effect stayed with me for about two hours. By then, I had found a rest area and taken a nap.

This gum should not be used as a sleep substitute, IMHO, but it can serve very well in situations when you cannot take a nap and you must continue to function. Its cinnamon taste isn't the best, but it is tolerable and you can get used to it. It works well even for a major coffee drinker (who is used to caffeine) like myself.

I recieved this package in a nice sealed envelope from the 'stay alert group' First with the taste. There are many people who can't handle the taste of this gum and spit it out right away. I don't find the taste too bad actually. The first minute of chewing the gum tastes just like any other cinnamin gum. After the first minute its bitter caffine heaven from there. Nothing too repulsive, but people with weak taste tolerance should avoid this flavor. Included in my package was a sample of their new flavor "arctic mint" which i enjoyed more than the cinnamin and would recommend it. Now i tried this gum while i was fully alert and active, and i didn't feel much different. A bit jittery, and lost my appetite. Other instances, i took the gum while i couldn't stay awake in class. Head bobbing and all. And within 5 minutes of chewing the gum, i felt the effects strongly. Light headed, didn't feel the need to sleep, jittery, and the slight need to run around. All in all, i recommend this gum. It may work for some people stronger than others but you'll never know until you try it. I found it mediocrely effective in keeping me alert and awake. I have yet to chew two peices at once.
Excellent product for long drives.

The caffeine gum is a great solution for drowsiness on long drives. As previous reviewers have noted, it becomes a little bitter after the first 5 minutes, but I just take small bites off another piece of cinnamon gum to overcome this.
You'll be awake

We had a long 12 hour drive. It works. I think I bought enough to last a lifetime. I do wash them off before consumption though. It has so much dye on them. It still worked though.

The taste is less than good, but hey that may wake you up too.
Highly Recommend

Nice product, although didn't affect me too much...

I really enjoyed STAY ALERT. It has quite alot of caffeine per piece, although it didn't seem to me that it worked on me very well. I'm used to ingesting numerous times that amount, but I can see how someone would be affected by this a lot if they weren't used to such levels of caffeine. The flavor didn't bother me at all. The first 5 minutes was a strong cinnamon flavor. Almost identical to a popular cinnamon gum. Then the bitterness kicked in. All in all I consumed probably 5 pieces a day, all in the morning within 6 hours or so. So it didn't last me too long...
Works as promised... Tastes like caffeine

The gum certainly makes you feel more alert, however you can taste the caffeine which has a very strong bitter flavor. If you're looking for a product that will help you stay alert, awake, and focused then this is for you. If you're looking for something to freshen your breath or that tastes good then stay away from this product. I recommend keeping a non-caffeinated gum handy to chew just to get the taste out of your mouth.
Good gum

Works great with 100mg of caffeine in each piece but taste is disgusting. I would have given it a 5 if the taste was better.
Great for Workouts

I use this product for my early morning workouts (mostly running), so I need an energy boost to get going. This gum provides the boost I need, and it helps me to have a more productive workout. The cinnamon flavor lasts an entire workout (usually an hour). There is a slight bitter caffeine taste, but that doesn't affect the overall flavor. It's a good product that I'll keep on buying.
It should be called Productivity Gum

I bought this for all-nighters when I was in college. I don't typically have a problem being sleepy, so I wasn't sure if I needed this. However, even though I wasn't sleepy, this product really helped my concentration and gave me a productivity boost, without the jitters.

I only chew half a piece at a time. This gives me more control over the caffeine content, letting me spread out my 'alertness' rather than getting a huge burst and then crashing. It also helps with the flavor issue. As many reviews state, it starts out fine, but then gets bitter. With half pieces, when it gets bitter, I just toss it out and put another half piece in my mouth. Same amount of caffeine, better flavor.

I now enjoy these over anything else when I want caffeine to become more productive. I am a small person, and have difficulty drinking large energy drinks. They don't taste awesome and they are super expensive for my budget. I have caffeine pills but I find it difficult to control the amount of caffeine (once you swallow it, its gone, unlike energy drinks you can sip) and it tends to give me a quick burst of energy and then downhill from there.

Caution: If I chew more than a couple pieces in a night, I get sores in my mouth. If you have a sensitive mouth, I would avoid this product.
Works but...

This product works, it gives you that caffeine kick when you use it. But, my god, the taste! its starts good, cinnamon, but after a minute, it began to taste horrible, to the point that you have to spit it out (not convenient if you want to have the whole caffeine charge the gum has), and leaves you nauseous until you can manage to drink something that takes the taste away from all of your throat. Not worth it, there other products that deliver the energy kick and manage to keep a good taste.
Terrible product!
