Something that really works on black hair!

I am African American and my hair is Natural. It is very thick, full, very curly, and dry hair. It takes a lot of patience and devotion of time and energy to maintain my hair so I need something that will not dry my hair and scalp; will moisturize and maintain the necessary moisture balance; help detangle my very unruly hair; contain natural ingredients; minimize styling time; rejuvenate, restore, and revive my hair's condition; and lastly make my hair look as healthy as it is.
I first had my doubts and skepticism about this product due to the fact that over 75 percent of hair care products are not formulated for and created with African Americans in mind. I was just tired of buying all the breakthrough products that claim to moisturize, soften, and protect my hair; when in actuality they only damaged it. The most important fact that initiated my research of Chaz Dean's Wen is the absence of a detergent called Sodium Laurel Sulfate. I came to find all of the high-end shampoos that claimed to moisturize and restore health contained this ingredient. I then made a decision to try the Fig Cleansing Conditioner because I felt that I had nothing to loose considering all the money I had wasted on various other products.
The first time I used the product I was amazed. The scent was very natural and home-made-like. I wet my hair with hot water to rinse away any loose debris, dirt, and left-over product. I then squeezed most of the water out of my hair using my hands. Not a towel which can damage your hair if used harsly. I used about ten pumps for every section of my hair. Since my hair is thick and full I sectioned about five parts, making sure to apply it from roots to ends, completely covering it. I then put on a plastic cap/conditoning cap. While setting up my hood-style dryer to deep cleanse and condition it I could feel my scalp tingle, which felt very good. I sat under the dryer for approximately twenty minutes. I then went to rinse out the product. I used luke warm water and began using my fingertips to help rinse out the Wen. It took about three minutes to ensure my hair and scalp was clean. I wrapped a towel around my head and took it off after a few minutes. I immediately looked at my hair and it looked much healthier and my scalp was clean. Not to mention it smelled very good. My hair was very soft and moved very well. I put about ten pumps of the Wen in my hair as a leave-in-conditioner and heat protector. I then blow dryed my hair, which only took about fifteen minutes versus about thirty with other products. My hair was soft and healthy-looking without looking overdryed. My hair moved and bounced with only the Wen. It did not weight it down or make it to oily. My hair looks great and the styles last long. I can actually say that it brought out the best in my hair. The biggest aspect is that my hair looks faboulous without any chemicals i.e. perms or relaxers. The biggest difference is that Wen is inexpensive and works. Finally a product that can actually help African American hair. I will now throw away all of those products because they are no good for me and my now healthy and beautiful hair. The only recommedation I would give is to use a natural oil in conjuction with the cleansing conditioner; i.e Carol's Daughter line of Khoret Amen hair oil or Hair Elixir. You will love the results! |
I LOVE WEN!! (Chaz Dean is a genius)

| This product is terrific. I have tried all three "flavors" of Wen, and this one is my favorite. The very first time I used this stuff I noticed a difference in my hair. The cleasing conditioner feels great and creates a cool tingling sensation on my scalp...refreshing and soothing at the same time. I was suprised at how clean my hair feels without the lather of traditional shampoo. After blowdrying my hair was really soft and my usual frizz was gone. If you are thinking about trying Wen, I think you should go for it. Your hair will look and feel fantastic! |

I received this product about a month ago and have been hooked ever since. I'm currently deployed to the VERY dry desert of Iraq and this product has all but transformed my hair. My coarse textured hair is now soft, silky, and looks and feels healthier than it's ever been. The conditioner creates a light tingle as it sits and the scent is very pleasant as well. I will definitely purchase more of this item. It's worth the $28 price tag.

Miracle Moisturizer for Dry, Brittle Hair

THIS PRODUCT WORKS! I have extremely dry, extremely curly, extremely frizzy hair. Although I've tried to use top-quality products on my hair and go to a salon to have my hair shampooed and styled, my hair has never felt moisturized and healthy. Until now. The Fig cleansing conditioner left my hair feeling soft and very easy to untangle. I took it to my salon, and my stylists were RAVING about being able to feel the moisture in my hair. No one has ever said that about my hair in my life!
I did have a short learning curve. This product is a no-shampoo cleanser, so it doesn't lather. I had to learn how to massage the product through my hair properly. I also had to learn to "feel" how much of the product my hair needed--some spots needed a little, and some spots needed a lot. But it was well worth it. The product's fragrance also reminds me of a cherry cough drop, which didn't bother me at all.
I'm very pleased with this product.

I SAW THE PRODUCTS ON AN INFORMERCIAL BUT DECIDED TO DO MORE RESEARCH AND FOUND THE PRODUCTS ONLINE HERE... I AM GLAD I DID...
MY HAIR FELT SOFTER AND SMOOTHER AFTER ONE USE. IT SMELLS GREAT.. I ALSO TRIED THE TEA TREE AND LAVENDER... THEY WORK VERY WELL BUT THE FRAGRANCE WAS A BIT TOO MUCH FOR ME ON THOSE SO I AM STICKING WITH THE FIG CLEANSER.. IT WORKS. CONDITIONING IS OUTSTANDING. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!!!
I READ SOME OF THE LESS THAN RAVE REVIEWS - COMPLAINING ABOUT THE PRODUCT LEAVING THE HAIR GREASY?? IF YOUR HAIR IS NATURALLY MORE OILY YOU MAY NEED TO REPEAT THE STEPS.. YOU DON'T NEED TO USE IT TWICE AS MUCH JUST SPLIT THE SAME AMOUNT INTO TWO STEPS... I AM A MECHANICAL AND CHEMICAL ENGINEER - THE SAME CONCEPT WORKS ON CLEANING INDUSTRIAL VESSELS - DO A PRE-CLEAN FOLLOWED BY A SECOND LONGER CLEANING STEP...
YOUR HAIR WILL THANK YOU... |

For the last couple of years, I have been very happy with my hair due to finding the right cut and no chemicals or permanent hair dyes. It looks healthy and shiny and I get compliments on it regularly. And for that reason I was hesitant to rock the boat by trying a radically different hair routine. But I thought that it might be nice to have a combo cleansing conditioner for when I travel and for that reason I decided to try WEN Fig, which looked from the description to be for ethnic hair.
This stuff is worth it. My hair is what you could call multi-ethnic. On my head there is a small patch of relatively kinky hair (compared to the rest of my hair which is mostly wavy or straight). This patch had been problematic in years past because depending on what I did with my hair it would not always 'blend' in appearance-wise or what worked well for the straight and wavy majority of my hair might not work with the kinky part. That's how I know first-hand WEN fig works for most ethnic hair types. It cleans and moisturizes and balances everything. The straight and wavy part is shiny and not greasy and the kinky part has natural moisture. I would recommend to not do the high end number of pumps if your hair is straight and/or fine. So far my hair has not been weighed down and has body and bounce. (I think I saw on the insert that you can combine the different WEN formulas and that might be something for some people to consider. I'm not ready to do that yet because I will continue to use my regular shampoo on occasion, plus it's not as expensive as WEN.)
My routine has been even before WEN to let my hair dry naturally and smooth/flip it in a style in one stroke with an ionic flat iron. I don't use grease or hair aids. I had been doing that before WEN but always dreaded getting to that kinky portion as I'd sometimes go over that portion a few extra times. With WEN it is one stroke like the rest of my hair and it is healthy and shiny and it stays that way all day no matter what the weather.
If your hair is naturally kinky all over using WEN may make you re-think the wisdom of using chemicals or weaves to cover up the natural beauty of your hair. Try it! |

| I have the Fig, the Tea Tree, and the Sweet Almond Mint. Love all. My suggestion is to check all the facts on his site -- make sure you use plenty! If you don't use enough, it can weigh your hair down. I use about 28 pumps of it on my longish curly hair, and it's fabbo! Soft, manageable, bouncy!! |

| Before I used WEN I went to the website and printed Chaz Dean's tips. I carefully followed the directions from the tip page (which has pictures) and loved the fig fragrance. My African American/Jamaican hair is now really beautiful because of WEN. I'm currently wearing it natural and it gave me soft defined curls and enhanced my old dye job. I received compliments from my coworkers (they hadn't heard of WEN). I'll have to see how it works when I blowdry & flatiron, but as of now--I'm blown away!!!! |

| I have been using this product for a year now and my hair is softer and healthier now than it has ever been. I have a lot of fine naturally curly hair and this product brings out natural curl and body. No other styling products are needed. If you like a soft natural look this product is for you. It took me several weeks to get used to cleansing with Wen but now I won't use anything else. I recently used real lathering shampoo while out of town and my blonde hair looked and felt like straw! I mix the Scents together, right now I using Cucumber and Sweet Almond. I have tried all the types and Fig and Lavender are my favorites. Chaz Dean is a genius! |

My hair is not like most. In the back it's very cruly, very frizzy and really dry, on the sides its very curly (like candy curls) but not dry or damaged and underneath I have large curls. So if I used moisturizing shampoo It would leave the back looking good but the bottom and sides would be weighed down. If I used a normal shampoo it would be just the opposite.
Well I tried Wen Fig and all of my hair looked great!! The sides and bottom were bouncy and shiny! But most surprising of all the back was shiny!!! That had never happened until I tried this product! I will never go back to other shampoos!
I also throw 2 pumps in as a styling cream and walk out the door. NO OTHER PRODUCTS USED and get compliments left and right!

Excellent Replacement for Traditional Shampoo and Conditioner

| Reviewer: C. Wike, |
Came across the product on an infomercial. Received it and used right away and after three weeks of use, I am very impressed.
I have very thick course hair that I color and almost all shampoos' including those for color treated hair, strip the color and often make my hair dry and frizzy. Good quality shampoos easily cost $18 a bottle and add good quality condition at $12-$15, the cost for Wen is about the same, and maybe a little more because of shipping, but I think it is worth it.
The fact that is does not contain soap is good and while others say it weights their hair down, or makes it feel oily is possible, but it's really important to follow the directions exactly as described. I thought that the recommendation of so many pumps for one washing was a way for them to make more money by using more of the product than needed, but it does make for better results when the suggested amount is used. The success of the product is in how it is applied, one can't just use it like shampoo- apply and rinse.
The other thing about Wen is that is can be used as body moisturizer after showering, and also for shaving. How cool is that? So actually you don't have to buy shaving lotion or skin lotion either with this one product.
I have noticed that websites such as Amazon are offering the product for a little less than the informercial and the auto delivery ,however you won't receive the deep conditioner or hair gel, but this isn't a loss actually. The deep conditioner need only be used once or twice a month and would last at least 3 months, the gel isn't so great unless you have very fine hair as with thicker hair the gel/cream makes it too thick and dull. So if you can save a few bucks, buy on Amazon. |

| I ordered this as a discovery kit on QVC, I started my whole family on it. My hubby uses the sweet alomond mint. My 20 year old son who has thick, coarse hair used it once and made his hair soft. My Other son who is four used it and he loves it. He used to cry when I shampooed his hair. No more. I am 39 and I dye my hair red and I use the fig for about 2 weeks now. My hair is soft and does not strip my color like all other shampoo's out there. Did anyone no thats what laureth sulfate does strips color and your natural oils that are in your hair..Wen has no Laureth sulfate. Just get used to no lather. Who needs lather! You want lather on your body not your hair..... |

The WEN Fig cleansing conditioner is my favorite of all the WEN cleansers. One reviewer noted that she did not like the smell, but I actually received several compliments from my husband when I first started using it, so it is truly a matter of preference. I would describe the smell as a light musky/sweet scent. I tried the WEN cleansers because in the last few years my scalp has become very sensitive and I was shedding more daily. My dermatologist recommended alternating dandruff shampoos, and when that didn't work (and actually irritated my scalp a lot more) she recommended trying shampoos & conditioners with no added fragrance/color etc... None of this worked and costed a small fortune. Then I came across a review from a lady complaining about similar ailments and no luck with the same above routine. She was eventually diagnosed with an allergy to laurel/lauryl sulfates - common shampoo ingredients and which many people are sensitive to. After using the WEN cleansers she noticed a positive difference in her scalp health and daily shedding returned to a normal amount. I have to say that I have had the same positive experience! (Although, for me the Lavender WEN cleanser caused my scalp to feel a little itchy. So I recommend trying the travel sized sets to find the best one for you). One final note is that the WEN cleansing conditioners really do clean your hair and scalp (something I was skeptical about when I first discovered this product due to it lacking detergents). However, I have to pretty much use it daily because it is a light cleanser. I hope this helps :)

| I watched the paid program on WEN Cleansing Conditioner. I wanted to try it out but didn't want to order it through their paid program. I was surprised to see that Amazon.com has it. I thought why not it wouldn't hurt to try it out if I order through Amazon.com. I was a bit surprised on the size of the product I received for the amount I paid for. I started using it 4 weeks ago and I still have more than 1/2 full of the bottle. I was really surprised of what I am getting for my money. This product is absolutely wonderful and the wonder it does for my hair and scalp. It feels so cool, tingling and refreshing to use it. My hair felt soft and manageable. Show no sign of frizz or puffy hair. I am gladly to use this product to replace all the shampoo and conditioner that I have been using for 14 years. |

My hair is waist length and curly and prone to dry, brittle ends due to coloring. My hair feels better each and every time I use this product. BTW - I am using the Fig cleanser. Hair is soft, manageable, and today I used a fat curling iron to create large waves. The body has held all day and my hair looks and feels super! I think the folks who are noticing oily residue may not rinsing long enough. With regular shampoo and conditioner, I have to wash every day or my hair feels dirty. Not so with this product. I also am able to get a comb through my waist length hair with hardly a hitch to distribute it evenly while wet. I also don't understand the odor complaints. It's strong but pleasant and only strong while showering. Once my hair is dry there's almost no scent... Hope my review helps!

| I absolutely love WEN Fig Cleansing conditioner. I bought it on a whim & was excited but didn't really expect it to deliver the results it claimed to deliver. I have thick, color-treated hair & normally use a shampoo, a variety of conditioners & then I use 2 leave-in products followed by a styling product & when finished styling, a shine product. WEN replaced all of them & my hair looks amazing!! No split ends, no "fly-aways", tons of body and shine. I was totally floored by this product. You have to really follow the instructions and give it all the time it suggests and do use it as a leave-in as suggested on the product instructions. My husband is thrilled too because now I will be buying one product (WEN) and not 5 or 6 products!! Love it!! |

I have thick, coarse African American hair and have tried numerous products, including Devacurl, Carol's Daughter, Mixed Chicks, Curlfriends, Philip B, Miss Jessie's, Curls, John Frieda, Ouidad, Lazartigue, Paul Mitchell, and Aveda. Some of them were good or very good.
So far, Wen is the best. It leaves my hair extremely soft and -- most important -- without a greasy feel. My hair is well below my shoulders -- the longest it's ever been and I haven't used a chemical relaxer in over a year. (A stylist suggested I go without even the very light relaxer I used to get in order to encourage my natural curls.)
The product smells good and is pleasant to apply. I'm not as impressed by the fig oil, although I use it occasionally.
N.B., If you have a thick, long hair, the results will be better if you thoroughly coat the hair and leave it on for several minutes in the shower.
I don't doubt that this cleansing conditioner isn't for everyone; nothing is. But for people with dry, kinky or curly hair, this system does seem to work.
I only wish it weren't so expensive. I'm also no fan of the infomercials, which refer to "ethnic" hair. That's fairly broad and kind of insulting.

Just have to add my positive review to the list above... I am getting older, no way to deny it. Under my deceptively natural-looking blond hair down the middle of my back is pure white, coarsely textured, color treated, damaged hair. I have tried everything. I have bought the most expensive products I could find. I have tried everything with a "anti-frizz", "smoothing" claim in the title or label. Nothing worked.
One day I was channel surfing and happened upon the demonstation on QVC about this line of products. I had read recently that it really wasn't necessary to wash hair with shampoo every day, just add about a quarter sized dollup of conditioner and work into hair leave in during shower and rinse. I had been doing that and seeing some improvement. But still, not great. And, because I have horses, some days I just had to add shampoo. Between sweat and the dust and dirt kicked up when doing stalls and sweeping out the barn, I needed shampoo to feel clean. And I must admit, I still add a gentle shampoo after long days in the barn. It takes a few days to get that soft, silky feeling and look back after using shampoo. And honestly, if you rinse your hair well and use a little extra cleansing conditioner (I wash it out once and then reapply and leave on for the remainder of shower).
As I watched the demonstration of the WEN products and saw the Fig line, I just had to try it.
LOVE these products. My hair older, color treated, damaged hair, no longer has that feeling of straw. When I style it, shine is coming back. When I do nothing to it, it still looks good enough. When I use the flat iron (eeks! --- special ocassions only, but my husband loves the look), it looks great.
I gave away a bunch of the shampoo that I had bought, just prior to discovering this product.
Oh, and added bonus... PET SHAMPOO - I use it on my precious Yorkshire Terrier. Best product ever!!! Leaves her hair soft, silky and shiny. I have recommended it to my friends and relatives who have small, long haired dogs, especially Yorkies.
Check out the description of what type of hair each line is good for. But if you have damaged, color treated, coarse hair - FIG is for you.

| The Fig Cleansing Conditioner has completely changed my hair. I have chin length, thin, color-treated hair with dry ends. After only one use of this product, I could see a difference. My hair seemed fuller and the ends were smooth. I don't use the amount that is suggested. Two to three pumps is all I need for my hair -- just enough to saturate it. I can't imagine having to use 8 pumps per section unless you have extremely thick and long hair. I also like the fact that Wen products will not strip my hair color. |

I have used many, many, many products for my natural curly/wavy/kinky hair. I am also not a young girl or even a young woman. But my hair is now longer and looking its very best since I was a child since I started using Wen. A family member even thought I was wearing extensions because my hair looks so great. I initially used Wen along with other products to clean, condition and groom my hair and was pleased with the results. It was not until I ran out of Wen and continued my other products that I noticed my hair was not as easy to manage and certainly did not look as nice. Now I use Wen almost exclusively along with a spritz of Argan, Neem or Shea oils for sheen. My curls are shiny and well-defined, looking as if I set my hair or had one of those expensive services for natural hair at a salon.
Ladies with kinky/curly hair if you try this technique on your hair, you will see amazing results:
- Follow the no-poo regimen with Wen.
- Comb your hair only when you condition it.
- Final rinse with cool water.
- Dry hair with a cotton shirt instead of a towel -- no rubbing.
- Apply Wen leave-in condition using fingers or a smooth wide-tooth comb.
- Air dry (or diffuse if absolutely necessary) with absolutely no touching.
- Sleep on satiny pillow/bonnet to prevent hair from rubbing.
- Kinky/curly hair needs a lot of moisture so be generous with your Wen.
Some may say that Wen is expensive. It is not when you consider it is a high end product that does what it claims to do; you will not have to pay for any other products or services to have beautiful hair. One bottle of Wen usually lasts me about 5 weeks and I use it daily. This is the only hair product that I have purchased, used up and had my new supply ready. Now what to do with my Paul Mitchell, L'Oreal, Matrix, Ojon, K/C Custard?

| Wonderful product! Makes your hair feel like silk when you rinse it through. It does add time to showering b/c you must apply and massage 1-3 min, comb through, wait 3-5 min. then comb/rinse, but is 100% worth it. My hair has felt MUCH healthier overall and I noticed a smoother look after only 1 use. I tried regular shampoo after using this for a while and after blow drying my hair had tons more flyaways and was less moisturized. Try this product- it is truly good for your hair and you won't regret it. It doesn't foam, but for me that was easy to get used to. The smell is very natural and pleasant. |

I am in my forties and have color treated and permed hair. I was noticing a LOT of hair falling out in the shower and some dryness. I saw an info-mercial on the WEN product line and thought I'd give it a try. I was not disappointed. I ordered the Fig Cleansing Conditioner. It is pricey, but it is great for my hair. I would suggest, however, to not use it every day and possibly to also use a regular shampoo and conditioner every fourth or fifth shampoo; I found that it is possible to over condition hair. Although my hair was EXTREMELY soft and shiny when I used the product every other day, it was beginning to get a little flat. I also ordered the styling cream, but I found it to be more like a leave-in conditioner (still good) and the texturizing balm, which I would not recommend. The products were delivered in just a couple of days. I give the total experience with WEN products a 4 out of 5. One more great benefit, I have noticed less hair loss when I wash my hair.

I'll be the first to admit the product is pricey but well worth the investment. I took the time to read the reviews and decided on the 16 oz Fig, since everyone loved the smell.
Let me qualify my review with the fact that I have dry, curly, course, black hair. I followed the directions exactly and did put one pump's worth on my towel dried hair.
I've spend a lot of money on Aveda products, and they work great, but nothing compared to how well my hair did on just one application of Wen. Cost wise, Wen is going to be a lot less expensive simply for the fact that I'll have to buy few products.
My hair looked great after one application. It really brought out the shine and the color. My mom asked me if I had put some type of color rinse in my hair because it looked super black and shiny.
I told her I didn't and asked her if she noticed anything different about my hair. She said it looked really healthy. I told her about the Wen product I used, now she wants a bottle!
Anyhow, great product! I'm going to purchase the style creme to see how that works. As I stated earlier, I did use one pump of the the cleanser conditioner on my towel dried hair but I think it made my hair just a bit greasy.
No worries, I'm still figuring out the right quality to use. I'm realizing I don't have to use the cleansing conditioner, at full strength, every day. Some days I think just using a little to comb out my hair would suffice.
Thanks for the awesome quick delivery! I paid for normal shipping and the product arrived within two days! Wow! I don't know if that's the norm but I did appreciate seeing the delivery box early. Thanks again! |

Thankfully, I didn't know there was an infomercial before I bought this product. I would have been biased against it had I known. I've tried all of the Wen cleansing conditioners now and this one, Fig, is my favorite. The Lavender scented version is second.
I have long, brown hair of (perhaps slightly thicker than) medium thickness that is (and was) in good condition. I didn't have a problem getting it to be soft, and it generally behaves itself nicely in the dry winter months, but it is prone to frizz and unwanted extra volume in wet or humid weather.
I started using the cleansing conditioner this summer, and it left my hair very soft and frizz-resistant. That second part is most important to me because I was looking for a product that would reduce the amount of tubes and bottles I have to store in my hall closet and bathroom. Plus, this product is not cheap, so I want it to multi-task, and eliminate my need to purchase other products. The very first day I used the Fig cleansing conditioner, I dried just my bangs and the very front of my hair, pulled it back into a ponytail, and left for work. When I looked at it in the mirror later, my ponytail was made up of shiny, soft, frizz-free curls, and I hadn't used any of my other expensive, coiffure-deflating, anti-frizz products.
I bought the set of 5 to find my favorite, and I've settled on the one I bought initially which is Fig. I worked out the cost per ounce if you include shipping and handling and I just purchased a gallon. I figure I'll fill my small bottle for the shower, and the gallon will still take up less room in the closet than my collection of anti-frizz serums, styling cremes, conditioners, shampoos and gels. |
Really good stuff!

I read all the reviews of this product -- both good and bad. I decided to take the chance and try it for myself. My hair is long, curly and color-treated. I've tried just about every shampoo and conditioner out there, and I'm always in the market for something new to get the extreme tangles out of my hair when I wash it. (I admit that I like to switch products to avoid build-up.)
I am 100% satisfied with WEN Fig Cleansing Conditioner. It cleans efficiently without making my hair feel stripped of natural oils. I rinsed it out very thoroughly and did not feel the need to apply more as a conditioner. That, in itself, is amazing because I can never go without conditioner. The end result -- when my hair was dry, I could run my fingers through it without pulling or snagging. My hair has a light, fresh scent -- not as strong as the product's smell direct from the bottle, which is strong and fruity with an added note of a "soapy" smell.
This is a hair product that I'll definitely purchase again, and I highly recommend that you give it a try! |

| When i bought this i was nervous...hoping for the best and hoping i didnt waste my money. I have very very overprocessed hair that i heat style everyday...curling irons, blowdryers, flat irons..you name it. The 1st time i used it i was pretty happy. I used it exactly how the instructions in the booklet says to and then added only one pump of it as a leave in and 2 pumps as a styling cream. I blowdried my hair with a round brush as usual and when i was finished i had light, VERY clean hair...almost too clean; it seemed just a little dry. Later i went out to lunch with my mom and she asked me if i had gotten a trim and my hair looked great...NOW I WAS REALLY STARTING TO LIKE THIS STUFF! That night i got in the shower and followed the directions exactly except i didnt rinse it out. I left it on all night. My scalp felt so tingly and cool all night. In the morning i got in the shower again rinsed a bit and then added about half the amount of pumped to make sure it got clean and i used 2 pumps of the leave in onditioner and 4 pumps of the styling cream. I blowdried my hair and....WOW! My hair is the shiniest it has ever been, and it took half the time to blowdry. It has so much volume and it is light and clean. I cant beleive how awesome this stuff is. And this is after only 2 days. I cant wait to see what it will do to my hair in 2 weeks, 2months, etc. Its so soft. I cant stop touching it. I didnt like the scent at first...it seemed kinda mediciny, but now i have gotten used to it and i kind of like it. But the results are so good i would use this if it smelled like sulfur. :) Buy this product. Its amazing. |

| I have color treated, slightly wavy Caucasian hair-it's fine, but I have lots of it. A friend highly recommended the WEN products and thought the Fig line would be my best choice (she uses Wen Lavender Cleaner Conditioner on her own hair). I followed the directions for my hair length and left the product on the suggested amount of time and rinsed my hair the suggested lenth of time. After rinsing, I applied a couple pumps of the product to the ends and left it in as a conditioner. I WAS pleasantly pleased with the results. My hair was shiny, soft and silky feeling and still feels that way two days later. I like the subtle fresh smell of the fig (the Lavender line also smells wonderful). Like many of us, I'm tired of chemical/artificial scents commonly in "natural" hair and body care products. I'm pleased to finally find a line of jair care products that actually does what it claims to do and doesn't containe Sulfates. WEN is NEW spelled backwards and this line of products certainly is state of the art. It will be occupying a spot in my bathroom from now on. I'm wondering if the folks who didn't have such fantastic results didn't follow the directions to the letter-either didn't use enough of the product or didn't leave it on or rinse it out as directed. I'm 120% satisfied with WEN! |
No more hair care "system"...

I have been using Wen for about three weeks. I have had thick hair at a below the shoulder length for most of my life. It is wavy in some places, curly in a few, and straight in a few. It gets puffy if left to air dry, so (before Wen) I either used a lot of product to bring out the curl, or blew dry and used a lot of product to tame the frizz and puffyness that came from blow drying.
Before Wen, I used a hair care system: one shampoo, another conditioner, a deep conditioner and a leave in smoother. If I did my hair curly, I had a texturizer, mouse, hairspray and a smoother. If I did my hair straight, I added a smoother and hairspray. My regular products were from Redkin (all soft and extreme product lines), Aveda (brilliance line), Giovanni smoother, tre`seme hairspray, cirti shine smoother, frizz ease serums, Dove, Freeman, and Body Shop (honey and olive products). What a mess my shower and medicine cabinet had become!
With Wen, I use only Wen. No joke! I read that this is all you have to use, and was in disbelief. I gave it a try, thinking there was no way this was going to work, but it was worth a shot with the trial kit. I was totally wrong to think it was a hoax. It was fantastic.
After one use, I blow dried my hair with a wide tooth comb and no product. It looked ready to wear. Usually I have to spend about a half an hour and four products to tame the mane after blow-drying, including finishing with either a flat iron or curling iron. But... no. Wen smoothed my hair, it was easy to comb through, it was clean, shiny and soft and it smelled fantastic.
Three weeks later I am still in shock. This product is awesome, and I just ordered more. I have adjusted the amount of leave in product I put in because my hair seems to need just a dime size as a leave in.
For those who think Wen is expensive, think about the other products you buy to clean and style your hair, and realize you will not need them. One product! I also use a touch of hairspray if I curl my hair....
My new problem: Not sure what to do with the multitude of other products still in my medicine cabinet! It's a nice problem to have.

| I have been using for over a year and this is the best group of products I've ever tried (and I'm a true product junkie and have tried almost everything!!) It saves time in my routine and makes my hair feel soft and beautiful! I have thick, coarse, curly, color-treated hair and I use a flat iron regularly to straighten my curls-my hairdresser cannot believe the beautiful condition of my hair since beginning Wen-I take it with me every time! Stick with it for more than 1-2x and use a little more product if you don't think you're getting good results. |

| I defiantely DON'T work for the company, and this stuff in my opinion is amazing! I have coarse, VERY thick, colored hair and after the first time using it I noticed at least a 50% decrease in the amount of frizz. With foaming shampoos I have a problem with dry scalp, with Wen I have no flakes and no scalp issues. I was just online to order another bottle when I noticed two reviews that claimed all of the great reviews were made by employees. Maybe it's not for everyone but if you have literally tried every product out there (like I have) and haven't found one that works for you, give this a try... also read the different formula descriptions carefully and make sure you're ordering the formula that is right for your hair. |

My hair is shiny and soft and I cannot tell the difference between this and my regular shampoo and conditoner routine. I did make sure to follow the directions, use 30 pumps on my chin length hair and rinsed very well! I also used about 1/2 a pump as leave-in conditioner and only put that on the ends om my hair. I used the lavender scent. I will buy this again |

| I am a Cosmetology Student (Beauty School) and was very curious about this when I saw it on TV. I am white with thick dark hair similar in texture to Native American/Asian hair. I ordered the Fig Cleanser and noticed a huge difference in my hair after the first use. I was worried that I wouldn't feel like my hair was clean, but that is not the case. Hair came out soft, bouncy and dries naturally with out frizzies. I also noticed right away that when flatironing my hair was much smoother even without using any styling products. I will never use regular Shampoo again. I even got my boyfriend using it and he loves it. I wish we could use this at school on our clients. |

| It's steamy outside and my normally frizzy hair is holding its style and shiny. It also seems to be holding the color better than usual. Between workouts and swimming I've probably washed (cleansed with Wen) my hair 20 times in the past 14 days and my hair feels stronger and healthier than ever. Yes, you'll miss the foamy lather of regular shampoos but the results are worth it. The wetter your hair is to start the better results you'll get. I wet my hair and put in about 20 pumps and then quickly wet it again and add a little more Wen and my hair feels very clean and not weighed down at all. I get best results when I don't use any other product and just add a little hairspray. I've tried all but the lavender and they're all great but the fig is my favorite. |

| All I can say is wow! I have medium length, very thick, and very dry hair with split ends. With my hair you can forget styling with heat, because it's gonna look fried. I've tried everything, but I was always left disappointed and my hair was oily. I used this last night for the first time, and my hair is already looking 100% better. It's soft and shiny. My split ends don't look as dry, and the top of my head isn't oily. I think after a hair cut, my split ends will be gone. Like I said, I used it last night, then slept on my wet hair. I let it finish drying, then I flat ironed it. My hair is still shiny and soft, and doesn't look dry or oily at all. I work as a receptionist, and the first customer to come in this morning said she loved my hair, and I've never met her in my life! I looooooove this stuff! The only cons I can think of are: 1. no lather, you've been trained to lather and rinse, but not much to get over 2. my hair feels oily as I style it, but it definitly doesn't look it 3. the price, but I think it's worth it after I have bought all these other products to tame my hair that haven't given me the results I want. I would highly recommend this product. |

I have pretty thick, slightly curly/wavy hair that's been pretty damaged from years of using hair dryers and flat irons, and I swear, my hair has never been healthier. I try not to use it everyday since it is pretty pricey (and even the instruction packet that came with the cleanser says you can use it every 2 to 3 days) but it was worth every penny. |

| This is an amazing product. I was skeptical at first of non-sudsing shampoo (like anyone else) but am a big fan of great shampoos from John Masters. I had heard of this shampoo before and never thought of buying it. However, lately, I've been having a lot of issues with my scalp (itchiness caused by most shampoos and quite a bit of oil), my hair (which has gotten thinner recently from stress) and I have quite a few grays even though I'm so young! I COULD NOT BELIEVE THE DIFFERENCE FROM USING THIS PRODUCT ONLY ONCE! All itchiness was gone, I have ethnic hair and my hair was relaxed and full of volume and STRAIGHT and it was SO SOFT. The product smells amazing and does what it says, it cleanses without all the usual issues that sudsing shampoos cause. I heartily recommend this product and bought it as gifts for my sister (who's hair is incredibly thick and long) and my mother. They are loving it. Seriously, buy it. It's a beauty SPLURGE well worth the benefits! |

| I saw this product used on the "How Do I Look" program on the Style Network. Although I was skeptical, I was intrigued by the fact that the product was both a cleanser and conditioner. On the program, Chaz Dean said the products will not fade hair color. The first time I used it I was amazed at the texture of my hair and how manageable it was. I have very thick, wavy hair, and even with salon products I usually have a problem with dryness. This product leaves my hair soft without being too weighed-down, and I can't believe how shiny it is. It seems a little pricey at first, but it is well worth the money. |

| Was slightly apprehensive to purchase this product, thinking that using a conditioner to clean my hair would leave it feeling weighted down and greasy. I was wrong! This works great! It doesn't lather (just like it says!) But, having coarse thick hair, it leaves my hair feeling clean, soft, and manageable - even if I don't wash it daily. When a person has 5 feet of hair and not a lot of time, who wouldn't try this product. Since then I have cut my hair back to my waste and I still love it. It is strange not to have bubbles when washing your hair, but for the conditioning and cleaning aspect, the product is wonderful.
Just a warning, do not have costume jewelry on when using this produce, the chemicals will turn the product. 14K and above jewelry, it will not harm at all. Keep the values coming.

| This shampoo is the best product out there. When I was a "young kid" I only had to wash, and air dry and go. My hair would look great! I used to get compliments all the time. Now, I need help. I color my hair and even few colorings will damage. Wen shampoo is the ONLY thing that keeps my hair looking great. I actually get compliments now as an "older kid" it's shiny, soft, silky, and like the maker of this product says it does not strip hair of its natural oils. My hair is saved! I have tried EVERY single product money can buy, but when I tried this, my search has ended. I use it every day. Would not be without it. Also, you don't need conditioner or deep conditioner or leave in. Can't beat it! |

I took the fig from her (her hair is fine and thin, so this was better suited for me, lots of frizzy blonde hair!) I couldn't believe the difference in one use. My hair color was fresher looking (natural blonde with some white coming through), my very dry hair is soft as anything, and super tangle free. I hate to say it, but I may be hooked. I can't believe how much nicer my moms hair looked too. Her hair is thinning and it made it look a lot fuller! Nice product. And I like the fact they aren't OVERLY fragrant. |

I just started using WEN this last week and I will never go back to regular shampooing! It is truly AMAZING. I thought that my hair would not feel clean, that is not the case! My hair feels clean and amazing. I was also worried that I would not be able to skip a day of "washing" if I needed to, Also not the case. My hair was no more oily than it would have been if I had used regular shampoo. (I hope that made sense)
I think just like revolutionary beauty products that have come before WEN (like bare minerals) that everyone I know uses and has changed the way we do our beauty routine, I think this will only get more and more popular.
WEN is the future of hair care, at least I know that I will never go back to "shampooing" my hair!! |

Un. Be. LIEVEABLE! Seriously. I've wanted to grow out my relaxer for a long time as I cannot afford the expense of the upkeep. I'm AA female with coarse hair. I have not been to the salon in 5 months. When I tried the WEN for the 1st time a couple of weeks ago, I had not washed my hair in too long because there is nothing worse than washing with too much new growth and dealing with the breakage. I loved how the WEN worked gently into my wet hair, but I still got some breakage. I tried again last night and I was blown away! I could feel the wave pattern of my natural hair after I rinsed, but it was totally smooth and manageable.
I put on a cap and sat under the dryer about 20 min and then rinsed. I blew it out and then styled it with the Instyler iron that I just got (another amazing product). I couldn't resist putting in extra styling product out of habit but I really didn't need it. I'm hooked. Between the WEN and the Instyler I'm DONE with relaxing. Now I don't have to be bald at 50. Yay! |

Wen delivers if you respect how it is different and follow the directions. If you use Wen with the "shampoo method" -- put some in, massage it and then wash it out right away -- your hair will be flat and greasy.
In order for Wen to clean your hair, you need to work it through and LEAVE IT ON for at least 3 minutes (preferably 5), then rinse really well. If you follow the directions, your hair will be clean, shiny, soft, bouncy and your color will last. FWIW, I have fine, light-bodied, wavy, medium-length, color-treated hair. I usually have to wash my hair every two or three days... no change in frequency between using Wen or regular shampoo.
I do wish the Wen website offered a comparison of the differences between the different formulations/"flavors" and what is best for different hair types... there are so many to choose from and without any guidance, picking one over another feels random. That said, I'm happy with the Fig. |

My reason for trying it is I have my hair professionally colored about every six weeks and was tired of the color fading. I had heard that since this product doesn't lather, it wouldn't strip the hair of its color so quickly. It was weird the first time I used it because there was no lather. I followed the instructions and was surprised that my hair was actually clean. I have been using this product for approximately 6 weeks, and my hair color hasn't faded nearly as much as it would have using regular shampoo and conditioner. The fragrance is pleasant too. |

| I absolutely adore this product. The only set back is that your hair can get greasy the day after you use it quicker than normal. I also found I couldn't use it for more than 3 or 4 days without feeling like I needed to use a cleansing shampoo to get rid of the build up. But now I alternate between the two and found it leaves my hair shiny and beautiful. And the scent is lovely. |
Works Well - No SLS

I was in doubt that this would get my hair clean. I have long, naturally frizzy and wavy hair and I have a lot of it. I tend to wash it every 2-3 days so I need something that will really get it clean. I followed the instructions and it seems to have worked really well. I was worried that my hair would be greasy or lifeless without a cleansing agent, but the ingredients seemed to have cleaned my hair naturally.
My hair was a lot easier to style and felt lighter (not heavy or weighed down) and softer, but without the usual frizz.
One thing I don't like, however, is the scent. It smells more like a wild cherry cough drop than "fig". Like a cough drop, it does contain menthol, and I think that explains the "tingly" feeling it gives your scalp. Fortunately, the smell doesn't seem to linger on the hair after it's dry, or if it does, it's a lot lighter because it's not bothering me.
After I styled, I put a tiny bit more in my hair to act as a smoother. It works great.
I feel like the other products in the line might be overkill, it seems to me that all you need is the Cleansing Conditioner. Maybe some hairspray if you wanted some hold.
The ingredients are really straight forward and it seems to make sense. I know that SLS strips your hair and some say it causes cancer. I have been avoiding the chemical-based SLS in the past, trying to use an organic version made from tea or coconut (found in Aveda products), but this doesn't have any form of SLS in it.
I'd say if you are having doubts, just try it. Make sure you buy it off Amazon so you don't have to get all the other products (which I really see no need for) or sign up for automatic delivery (they make you do this off the Wen website).
Overall, it seems to do what it promises. |

| I tried the almond product awhile ago. I wasn't crazy about it initially, but when I went back to it, I noticed the difference. I decided to try Wen again and found the fig. I have LONG naturally curly hair, which most of the time I dry straight and flat iron. It is smooth and shiny. When I leave it curly, I usually put it in a scrunchy overnight while still damp and when I take the scrunchy off, it's curly. But, you can tell it is also still very fly away, and not as defined as it was when I was younger. After one use of the fig, with the same overnight procedure, it was awesome! It was VERY curly, very defined, not fly away and very soft to the touch. I could actually get my fingers through it, which I can't do even with a ton of conditioner. I can also see the difference as far as not having an itchy scalp b/c of the lack of build up and product on my scalp. The next test is wash and dry straight. I'll let you know how that goes! |

| I've never been great at styling my hair and expecting a "shampoo" to make me look like I walked out of a salon was asking a little too much. But it did leave my hair super-soft and there were noticeably fewer strands left on the shower floor. All in all, I'm satisfied. |

| I purchased this product after months of consideration. The only thing that was holding me back was the price and the amount of pumps that I knew I would have to use. I bought the one bottle and have to say that I am very impressed. I have since gotten rid of my expensive shampoos and will not use anything else. My type 4a natural hair is extremely dry in the winter and using the WEN really helps. Amazon provided fast shipping as always at a reasonable price and with the promotions for fee shipping oftentimes, it pays off. |
Wen Zen / Fig tingly

So this was a "buy and try" for me.
And I'm glad I did.
It feels good on the scalp and in the hair. Although it can be a bit tingly, so if you've a sensitive scalp it may not feels as comfortable.
And it smells great too. Very fresh.
Took it to the salon where I get my hair done (relaxed) and my hair dresser even expressed an interest in it, after reading the ingredients label. |

The FIG cleansing conditioner is really good for my dry color-treated hair. It leaves it shiny, and it gets better and better with each use. The only bad thing is - the smell. I've tried other WEN products and liked the scents very much, but the FIG scent is AWFUL. It smells like putrified fruit of some type. Even my husband said my hair didn't smell "pretty" like it normally does - after I used this.
One other problem with this (and all WEN products) is the price. WEN tells you to use quite a bit on your hair each time, and considering the size of this - it's REALLY expensive. It doesn't last long AT ALL. Which is a shame, since it works so well. I think the WEN people need to lower their prices! |

| I really like this product. It is a little spendy and you do have to use a ton of it, more than normal shampoo.. However, the results are great. I have normal hair and I color it so it's pretty dry. This product leaves your hair feeling really smooth and soft, it definitely feels healthier the more I use it. I noticed a difference right after I used it and I usually use good shampoos on my hair. |
The best conditioner I've ever tried

| I love it. It is by far the best conditioner I've ever tried. I'm African American and my hair is very long, thick, and course. I always have a fight in the shower because my hair turns into a gigantic afro. But this products tames it and makes it smooth, soft, and managable. I couldn't believe it. However it is also the most expensive conditioner I've ever tried. Unfortunately it is too expensive to become my routine use conditioner. I sincerely regret that I cannot afford to continue using it. I'll have to continue with my almost as good but very affordable products. But, at least I know there is a product for my hair which does what I really want. |

| I didn't give this product 5 stars for two reasons: The first is that it could use a $10 price reduction. The second reason is that I'm not sure it works on all types of hair. I am an African-American with natural hair and Wen gently cleans my hair, makes it very manageable and has improved the condition of my hair. I love it, but one other African-American women I know don't find that it makes their hair particularly manageable. Like every other hair product, you just have to try it and see if it works for you. |

my hair wasn't as nicely soft, silky and fresh smelling. I had just highlighted my hair and was not unhappy with my current haircare program. However, this intrigued me how it didn't strip the hair of it's natural oils, and I liked the fact that I would be able to use less product on my hair. I have fine wavy hair that curls up like a good perm, but also blow dries out smooth and silky. I originally bought the stuff on QVC and couldn't wait for it to get here, so I got the several "flavor" trial kit through Amazon as well. I ended up getting both within a few days of each other. The sweet almond mint is more like menthol instead of mint, but worked decently on my hair. The first go round I wasn't extremely impressed, but I hadn't factored in that I had just highlighted my hair and changed its structure. After using the stronger moisturizer that you use once in a while, wow!, and after continued use, this product sure is a pleaser. Can't say enough good things about it. Only thing is, is that it is a little pricey....
My favorite "flavor" is the fig. It actually smells good, and works well, as does the lavendar and the tea tree. The only one that I had particularly poor results with was the cucumber melon--it left my hair quite greasy--go figure. It was supposed to be the one best suited for my hair type. I say go for the fig! Enjoy! |

I really enjoy this product. It is the best hair product I have ever used, and I love the way my hair smells and feels after using it. What keeps me from giving it 5 stars is the fact that it is a bit too expensive in my opinion, but I know of no other competing product that works as well. It also takes a little time getting used to it as it does not feel like shampoo.
It's a great product, but be aware that you will be signing up for a subscription to the products if you order directly from WEN's website. It's too bad a great product is being sold by a company practicing questionable business tactics. Your best bet is to order the product through amazon unless you don't mind getting into a subscription to the product. |

| I've tried the Wen Hair Care system before. I definately notice a difference in my hair texture. My hair is smoother, softer, shinier, and it brings out my hair color more...all in just ONE use. The scent of the fig cleanser kinda smells like rotten fruit, but you get over it. And you have to use so many "pumps" of the cleanser for it to work, so you waste alot. But overall, i think this is a nice product that Guthey Renker puts out that really works. |

I have used HairOne which is an inexpensive version of Wen that you can purchase at Sally's Beauty Salon for about $10. HairOne does not cleanse the hair well; because of HairOne's poor cleansing I was skeptic to try Wen. A friend gave me a travel size bottle of Wen that she had ordered and I liked the results. Wen cleanses the hair well and if I use a lot of hair product there isn't a residual residue.
I ordered Wen Fig and I agree the smell is strange but it doesn't linger in your hair after it is rinsed out. My hair is very soft when using Wen and that is my first complaint. It is hard to style soft hair. But my color lasts longer and I also do Brazilian Keratin Treatments on my hair and they last longer.
My second complaint is the length of time this cleanser takes.
I have used Wen on my German Shephard. And although this is an expensive product to use on a pet, I only give her a bath when she absolutely needs it because of her breed. GS's are prone to skin problems. Wen leaves her coat absolutely beautiful, shiny and soft. |

| I have been coloring my hair for about 10 years and my hair was becomming so dry I would only wear it in a ponytail. It was brittle and falling out. I have very long, thick hair so after reading the reviews I bought the Fig scent. I ususally love all things fig (from bath & bodyworks) - but this is like a rotten fig smell. I started using the product as directed and found my hair was looking greasy at the roots - now i use a smaller amount and use only as a conditioner; i use a sulfate free shampoo first. The conditioner has been amazing - my hair is a thousand times softer and much stronger. My hairdresser asked me what I was using because she also noticed the improvement. I will definitely continue using this as a conditioner - but will pick a different scent next time. |

I have been watching the WEN commercials on television and on QVC. I thought about buying the product, but had been putting it off. I have blonde, very dry, frizzy, naturally curly hair. I live in Arkansas, so the humidity is not my best friend. Recently, I went to a salon and my stylist completely fried my hair! Lowlights turned black on my blonde hair and then she went back to lighten them and my hair was breaking off and very dry (fried!!). I bought many products for my hair and wore hair masks and have been taking good care of my hair.
I decided to give this product a try. I purchased the Fig b/c of the reviews. It seems to be more moisturizing than the other ones. I did not use as many pumps as what they say to use. I just pump about three or four at a time and work it into about 5 sections. I wet it a little more afterwards so that it is easier to massage into my scalp. My hair does not feel as slimy as when using other conditioners, so I was skeptical of it, but when I dried my hair straight afterwards (using nothing else, just WEN) my hair was softer, less frizzy and actually bounced (it never does this).
I have found that it does better with just the WEN product on my hair. I put on a small amount to just leave on and dry it. The more products I add for frizz and control, the less soft and more frizzy it is . WEN by itself works. Normally I add about 4 products to my hair after I have conditioned it. I have used it 5 times thus far and I am pleased with it. I have even suggested it to my mom and friends. I do not care for the smell, but it is not horrible either. It smells like cough syrup. I would like it to smell better, but seeing the way my hair looks now, I will continue using it! If you try it, take before and after photos, I wish I had!!! Thanks WEN, I am a believer!!!! Buy and try at Amazon, that way you are not on a monthly debit plan as with the infomercial. |

I ordered this product based on several good reviews both here and in magazines, I was unable to find a complete ingredient listing anywhere prior to purchasing it, but I decided to take a chance. When I received it, I was disappointed to see that it contained amedithicone, as my hair does not do well with any "cones". I tried it anyways, and the results were OK after a couple of washes, but I could see the "cone" buildup and its effects shortly thereafter (dry and brittle hair), after using it several times.
Using it was very pleasant, and the smell is great and I enjoyed the way it felt on my scalp--however it doesn't seem to be that great for my hair--I plan to use it once in while and I'll have to remember to clarify my hair to get rid of the "cone" buildup. |

| I will update my review after using this a bit more, but after a few tries, i am not convinced that this is going to replace normal shampoo and conditioner for me. i may use this and mix it up every other time or something. I am finding that my hair still feels a bit greasy and dirty after showering and using this product. i have rinsed extra well and not left any in as a leave in and i still feel my hair is a bit dull, heavy and weighed down and not ultra clean. I do understand that this is a lot better for my hair and will help the color last longer, so i am going to continue to try it out. The smell is nice and clean and fresh, i am not getting any tingle from the product as i thought i was going to on my scalp. it feels as if it rinses out well, and i do not have the tangles that i would normally have if i were to skip conditioner after shampooing. I will update in a few weeks when i have used it more. |

I bought this after reading reviews and seeing the infomercial. When I first used it it seemed to do wonders on my hair! I had beautiful, silky hair with volume for the first time in my life! I just had to make sure my hair was thoroughly rinsed or else I'd have build up. I wasn't crazy about the smell (like wet dog) but when it dried it didn't smell so bad. However, the next day my hair would be oddly stringy and matted so I'd have to "wash" my hair again.
My hair is naturally straight, thick, and, well, Asian. I've never really had problems with it but I wanted something weightless to impart more volume while not sacrificing moisture. This seemed to do the trick...for awhile. After a few weeks I noticed it didn't do anything for my hair anymore, and my hair would feel greasy and gross the next day, so I decided to switch back to shampoo. I had some left so I used it again a few months later with horrible results! The smell is bad...really bad. And it doesn't give me shiny, voluminous, manageable hair. It looks dried out and almost frizzy - which usually never happens with my hair.
I've given up on this product. My sis came to visit me and tried it out (also an infomercial-lover like myself) and HATED it. I don't think I'll buy this again. |

I am a man that is really picky and critical about shampoo. I have tried many kinds and many natural types that can be found at health food stores. The first wash my hair was very smooth and soft and I thought, Excellent !
The second wash it was just ok but my hair got oily much faster then usual.
Then the 3rd wash I rinsed over and over until I thought no trace of Wen.
What I found was, my hair was now way too dry.
So my conclusion is that to get the best result do not over rinse and if you under rinse you will get oily hair fast.
You have to find a perfect balance.

This product is really not as great as it claims to be. I was not particularly fond of the fig scent either. I did not see a difference in my hair as a result of using this product when compared to other sulfate-free products. No matter what chemicals dyes you put in your hair, if you do not deep condition/mask treat at least once a week, as well as use oil treatments, you hair will get damaged.
Indeed, the product is too expensive for the lack of results received.

My hair is very thick, corse, and color treated. I had good luck with the Mint Almond and after looking at web-site decided this might be a better fit for me.
Close, it is a bit heavy, and hair separtes into sections a day earlier than with the other formula.
SInce I live beachside, I do think the extra thickness of the formula might give a bit more protection from the harsh drying air and salt mist.
It has only been a week or two, maybe things will settle out, as when first trying Wen--a bit to get used to , but much better in the end. |

Much to my regret my hair is duller than I've ever seen it. The fig smell is a bit much as well (It's quite medicinal smelling) although I could have forgave that if the product really made my hair look and feel healthy. It's only been a little over a week which isn't long but I've now had less than healthy looking hair for a week, why continue. There are a lot of raving reviews here so I thought I would add this one to tell a tale of the other side. |

| If I am spending $28 on a bottle of shampoo, I shouldn't have to wash my hair every day. The day after shampooing, my hair would get dull and greasy and I would have to pull it back. On the day I shampooed, there wasn't a real significant difference between Wen and the Dove shampoo & conditioner that cost $4. Sure, my hair looked good, but not better, and it still required the same amount of styling and straightening. I was looking for something that would make a significant improvement to my thick, frizzy hair without a lot of work, but I definitely didn't find it in Wen. Severely disappointed. |

I followed the directions for a week, and it made my hair greasey and lifeless. I have thick, curly hair so I chose the fig version as it was recommended for my hair type. The first time I used it my head tingled, but by the second use the sensation was not so intense. I did't really like the scent either. I was hoping it would smell like a fig newton cookie, but honestly the smell was just not very enjoyable. Since the product is expensive, I am now trying to use it up as a follow up conditioner after my regular shampoo, which it work fine as, but defeats the purpose of having to use only one product. For the price, I will switch back to my regular regimen when I empty the bottle. For me, it did not work, and was not worth the price. |

| I feel I need to share my experience with Wen for customers. I started using Minty Almond 2 months ago, for one month. My scalp had a pimply reaction to it, severe enough to require a steroid lotion from doctor. After healing, I then wrote to Wen and they recommended I use Fig, which I did for another month. I DID NOT have any kind of allergic reaction from that one. But I have to tell you...this product is doing absolutely nothing for my hair type. My hair texture is fine but I have A LOT of hair thickness-wise. It always appears dry, as if having too much body and frizzies. And I thought this product would be so wonderful for my type hair - as advertised. Not so unfortunately and I'm very disappointed. I get more results with a little inexpensive 'safflower oil' in the palm of my hand with my reg. shampoo. So sometimes you have to consider the old phrase...When it sounds too good to be true....then just maybe it is!! |

I will not send it back, I can use it as a conditioning treatment but my advice for women with hair like mine is to look for gentler shampoos and wash less often. If you really used the amount of product they recomend you would need 2 full bottles of the stuff a month, to the tune of some 60 bucks. Also the miracle ingredient in it is old fashioned and inexpensive glycerin. Basically a rip-off. |

I am not sure if it really dried out my scalp or what but the difference was night and day compared to my use of the Sweet Almond Mint. After combing my hair many, many, many times to remove flakes, I rewashed the next morning with the Sweet Almond and my hair was good again. I am now using the Fig on the back of my hair and the sweet almond mint on my scalp & sides of my head. This gives me the best of both worlds...no dry scalp, but the lasting scent of the Fig cleanser. |

a very very expensive moderately effective product., September 20, 2008
Does this work? Yes....... Is it expensive? Yes very. Is there anything better? yep.... try suave shampoo and conditioner.......it will run you about 2 dollars.....about 15 cents a cleaning. This stuff is about 3 dollars a cleaning.
Anyway #1 it is expensive about 3 dollars a shot
#2 it takes a while to work, you have to leave it on about 5 minutes, just like a much cheaper deep conditioning treatment
#3 IT can build up quite a bit and you will find you have to use regular shampoo to clean your hair.
#4 they have a brilliant marketing informercial which makes it seem like this is great, infact, all of the models they show on tv, if you look at it, their hair looked better before then after using the product.
#5 if you buy this from wen haircare, they will do the automatic shipments. After you cancel it, they will send you one more shipment to make sure you want to cancel it {you can send it back, but you pay the shippint}
#6 they tell you that for added conditioning, add a few pumps to your hair after you dried it......well anything will make your hair smooth after you dried it....any conditioner will.
#7 if you have any curl in your hair, forget it, you wont have it after this product.
#8 use cheap shampoo, and a good conditioner [like leave in infusium 23}, save your money and buy something else you want.
How much would I pay for this? About 3 dollars no more. Save your money, in three months, you will be able to find this for three dollars on ebay! |

I have coarse and highly treated Asian hair and wanted to try to get the dryness out of my hair. I felt like it did it for the first washing. However, after having used it continuously for 2 weeks, my hair had that greasy look like I hadn't washed my hair in weeks. It was heavy and was very hard to style. I exercise almost everyday, so the buildup of sweat and this shampoo was a disaster.
So I washed my hair with regular shampoo/conditioner for the first time the other day, and I was amazed to see how CLEAN my hair looked and felt. My highlights actually popped out again instead of looking masked. I felt like I had new and improved hair (thanks Pantene). It had movement and was light and it smelled CLEAN!
I think this product would be good if they could figure out how to clean hair at the same time as treating and softening it. It just felt like it was building up onto itself. I will probably end up using the rest as a once/month treatment, and then go back to my old standby hair products.
OH, and thanks to other reviewers who suggested buying from Amazon! It would have sucked to have to deal with canceling on the automatic monthly subscription that they enroll you. |

| I purchased this product because it was offered in a larger size bottle and thought I would try a different scent. For some reason it didn't live up to the appeal that I had for the almond scented shampoo, and it left my hair somewhat drier. |
Fig Flattened My Goddess Hair

I have fine, curly, untreated hair that I wear natural and air-dried, and only occasionally shampoo. Despite my lack of abuse, it dries up, especially at the ends, so I am always looking to quench my hair's thirst. I tried Wen after seeing the infomercial, but the results on my head were greasy and flat, flat, flat. I had no body and felt like I needed a good shampooing.
Perhaps fig was an inappropriate choice: based on what I've read, cucumber is best for fine hair and volume. I would try this again, but definitely a different line. |
Not sure about this stuff....

| I was excited to receive the Wen fig sent, wanted to try this one step daily haircare product. I don't have problem hair, I don't color it or put much products in it. I have never had a problem with flakes or dandruff. The first time I tried Wen, I immediately noticed large flakes coming off my scalp. I figured at first maybe it was "cleansing" off of all the buildup and I stuck it out for about a week. I was really conscious about doing deep scalp massages in the shower with the product and leaving in in for the suggested time. After 2 weeks, I was sick of the chunky flakes sitting on my shoulders and went back to my old products. After only one application, I was flake free! I guess I just bought the most expensive shaving cream! And by the way, my mother always told me to stick to the products that you like, and my suave sleek shampoo and conditioner has given me compliments for years! |
Product did not work like it says.

I was a little afraid to try this product but I read so many good things about it I decided to try.. I used it exactly as it says to for over 2 weeks. I could hardly wait to wash my with real shampoo & conditioner, while this Fig stuff did in fact smell great, it did nothing for my hair except to make it seem 'gummed' and VERY frizzy. So much that I couldn't brush it without looking like I put my finger in a light socket.
to sum up; I think some people may actually be able to use it but not me. It was a waste of money.

| Again, I bought this product thinking it would be much different from what I have tried (and I have tried sooo many). I have been searching for a long time now for a cleansing system that not only works well on my hair but tends to my scalp as well. This specific cleanser smelled awful and did not work well to leave my hair feeling moisturized. It did clean well, but I still had scalp problems. It is awful pricey too. I will not try any more wen products for this is the 2nd one I tried. |
CAN I BE HONEST?????

I am African American, my hair is long (mid back when pressed), an afro full of dry frizz and curls. With hair like mine its important i keep it moisturized or else my hair will become brittle and break off. I take special care in making sure my natural hair is always moisturized so i can keep my length. Now on to the pros and cons of this product:
WEN Pros
1. Arrived 2 days after shipment..yay!...hence the 1 star.
WEN Cons
1. The ingredients- When i looked on the back of the bottle i immediately noticed Wen is not as natural as is portrayed. Heres a list of the synthetic ingredients: Cetyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Methosulfate,Cetearyl Alcohol, trimethysilylamodimethicone, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Polysorbate 60, & Methychlorisothiazolinone...theres more sythetic than natural ingredients
*In the back of the booklet that comes with the purchase, the purpose of each ingredient is listed..they tried to be helpful i guess.
2.It leaves a coat on the hair- I followed all the instuctions for this product perfectly. When i washed the product out, my curls were definitely more defined...but they werent soft at all. My hair felt like it was stripped, then had a coating over it to make it shine. But there was no real penetration of moisture. This proved to be even more true when i attempted to straighten my hair. What usually is a head full of thick body unfortunately turned into a haystack...dry with no real moisture.
3. The smell- I read reviews that the FIG WEN has a horrible medicated scent. Then I saw reviews saying it smells good.
Honestly the smell is medicated-ish...but its not overpowering to the point i wanted to run from the bottle. I think most people just are used to their hair smelling good and fruity..smelling medicated is a bit outside the comfort zone.
NOTE: The smell is forgivable if it actually delivered great results.
.....so honestly this product was not worth the box it came in. But i wont leave you with all negative. I'll put you on to the product that freakin sved my hair after WEN wrecked it. This product will moisturize, leave hair silky, and do what it promises. In fact what it promises is an understatement to the miricle it performed. You must try KARENS BODY BEAUTIFUL PRODUCTS!!!! It completely revitalized my hair after this wrecked it. When you review her products you will rarely see a bad review, honestly. Her hair milk, luscious lock deep conditioner, and conditioners are to die for, and they smell great! Plus all her products are ACTUALLY natural! (go figure!) Her products are handmade, and customer service is great.
I really wanted to love WEN, I was super excited when it arrived...but i have to honest, It left me nothing short of disappointed. Hope this helps

| I did not like this product. The smell is very nice and I had high hopes... but after my daughter and I both using it it gave us BOTH poofy, fluffy, frizzy hair and flakes. I tried it four times and it just got worse each time. I am returning it. |
A Total Rip Off

| I'm starting to wonder if all the glowing reviews are planted by Wen employees and friends. I bought the Fig Cleansing Conditioner and have used it 3 times so far. This product makes my hair look absolutely no different than if I used the cheapest drugstore shampoo and conditioner. Not sure what everyone is raving about. I believe the results on the infomercial show the before picture with absolutely no styling (just air dried hair) and the after picture is styled hair (blow dried, curling ironed, etc.). Obviously, this is not an apples to apples comparison. In my opinion, spending this much for a bottle of shampoo is a total waste of money. |
NOT WORTH IT, DON'T BELIEVE IT

| This is a horrible product I purchased to use on both my daughter and myself. It did no mirracle, and it just made my daughter's beautiful hair look frizzy, lifeless, and flat. Before WEN, her hair was bouncy, curly, shiny, and soft. It's a terrible product that just costs a lot of money. If you want a real product that's worth the price try AVEDA and PUREOLOGY. I went back to my AVEDA, and that saved my hair. I use a children's brand (circle of friends) for my daughter that is sulfate free/tearfree and it works a lot better. So don't give into the hype, these 5star rating people obviously haven't tried anything out there other than drugstore shampoo which will give the same(maybe even better) results as WEN. |
the worst product ever!!

| I used the first time and didn't like how my hair felt after that. It was dry, and tangled. it was like it had taken off all the oils of my hair it left it really really dry. The smell is awful also. For being such an expensive product I am very dissapointed. I have tried to return it but had no answer from seller yet after sending already 3 messages |
Terrible Smell

| I bought the Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner after watching the infomercial for it. I loved it! The only problem is the small bottle they give you is supposed to be a 30 day supply. There is no way, if using the recommended amount, it will last a month, and so I bought this as a supplement. It smells terrible. Right out of the bottle it is strong, sickly-sweet smell. When you start using it, the menthol smell comes out and the two do not mix well. I am throwing the full bottle out. I can't stand using it. |
Not worth the money!

I think that all of the reviews must have been written by people with the company as well.
Not only did I not notice a difference, but I had to stop using it because the smell is so bad. I could literally not stand the smell of my own hair!!!
Needless to say I have an almost full bottle of this nasty stuff. |
